Hello, I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Licensed Professional Clinical counselor located in California. I received my Masters Degrees from Brandman University in Victorville, California and have been practicing in for just under 5 years. I help those with distressing thoughts and feelings manage symptoms better and improve their sense of self. I find joy supporting and empowering those that are searching for healing and solutions to current struggles in daily life, and believe that finding purpose and meaning are monumental in becoming the best version of ourselves.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Our first session together will be a time of getting to know each other, identifying the presenting issues that brought you into therapy, and collaborating on individually tailored treatment goals that are empowering and meaningful to you personally.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I feel my greatest strengths as a provider is honesty, empathy, a willingness to meet the client where they are at, and my own personal life journey that has led me into the mental health field.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I approach therapy with the attitude that the client is the expert in their own lives, strive to build, trust and respect in the therapeutic relationship, and embrace a non-judgmental and empathetic atmosphere. In turn, this leads to a collaborative effort where treatment goals are identified, prioritized, and a clear understanding of the therapeutic trajectory is established to allow for a positive experience for the client. During the therapeutic journey I use common modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, DBT, and trauma-based interventions.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

The CBT model is often used in therapy to aid the client in understanding that what we think, influences how we feel, and this directly impacts behavior. Therefore, CBT increases perspective taking and can aid in challenging negative perceptions of events and situations that lead to depression and anxiety. CBT can also utilize a trauma-focused lens to treat PTSD and behavioral problems.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

DBT is a modality that aids with increasing awareness of how emotions directly impact behaviors. Therefore, DBT has shown to be effective in teaching people how regulate emotions, be more mindful of intense emotions , and increase tolerance for distressing emotions.

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)

EFT is a modality used to treat couples to increase emotional connection. Utilizing this modality in couples counseling allows the couple to express emotions in a healthy way, increase vulnerability, and reconnect emotionally to deescalate and reconsolidate emotional bonds.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

ACT therapy is a therapeutic modality that aids with being mindful and accepting difficult emotions, aids with changing how we related to thoughts and feelings, and allows for an increase of psychological flexibility that improves mental health and well-being.
