Hello! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC), EMDR-Trained, and have my Perinatal Mental Health Certification. I received my Bachelor's in Psychology at Rider University. I then went on to receive my Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Monmouth University. My approach has a strong emphasis on mindfulness, self-compassion, and teaching coping skills to manage depression and anxiety. I commend you for taking this big step in seeking counseling. Often times, making the choice to ask for help can feel uncomfortable. Change is scary. Vulnerability can feel risky, make you feel emotionally exposed. But I assure you that this work you're about to put in, will be all worth it at the end.
In our first session together, we will complete an intake. I will ask you a ton of questions to get to know you better! These questions will be about family, kids, work/school, support system, hobbies, medical/mental health history, and what you hope to get out of therapy.
Being a working mom of 2, I definitely understand the challenges that come with finding a healthy work/life balance. Overall, the demands of life can be challenging and exhausting. This can lead to feelings of anxiety, depression, and hopelessness. Together I am confident that we can work on learning how to cope with daily stressors and get you on a path to feeling better.
I specialize in maternal mental health (pregnancy/postpartum, infertility issues), life transitions (school, career, relationships), substance abuse, depression, and anxiety. My approach has a strong emphasis on mindfulness and self-compassion.
This is a great intervention used to teach coping skills and transform your way of thinking.
I use this intervention to help my clients overcome traumatic experiences.
