I help adolescents and young adults struggling with depression, anxiety, and anger issues become the best versions of themselves.
I am excited to work with you and help you reach your goals.
First session
In our first session together, we'll start with introductions. I like to get to know my clients. Then we will dive into the specific challenges you're facing and would like to work on. This will help me develop a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.
Strengths
Having worked with the adolescent and young adult population for over 10 years, I've developed great counseling skills needed to help clients (a) identify the root cause of their challenges and (b) create a tailored plan that leads to measurable progress.
Ideal clients
Take a moment to acknowledge you've taken the first step towards bettering your mental health because, let's be honest - starting therapy can be empowering, confusing, or scary, all at the same time. I strive to create a safe and welcoming environment that allows clients to explore obstacles with concerns related to anxiety, depression, and/or self-care. I focus on helping clients develop assertive communication & boundaries with themselves and those around them that can help improve their quality of life. Counseling can foster personal development in whatever way you may be seeking and help build the life you so deeply deserve. If that's what you're looking for, I'm here when you're ready to share.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I like to use CBT to help clients identify and challenge negative thought patterns and behaviors. CBT can also include relaxation exercises, stress-reducing techniques, pain-relieving techniques, and problem-solving strategies. I've seen great outcomes in clients when using this treatment method.
Psychoeducation
I believe psychoeducation is important part of therapy. Using psychoeducation, I like to help client's learn about their diagnosis, symptoms, and the method of treatment used. The goal of psychoeducation is to help clients understand and cope with their diagnoses as well as improve treatment adherence.
Motivational Interviewing
Motivational interviewing is another great treatment method. It involves helping clients increase their motivation to grow and change.
