(she/her)
Fiona is a Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner that treats psychiatric conditions in children, adolescents, and adults. She obtained her undergraduate degree in Nursing from Pennsylvania State University and her post-masters degree from Monmouth University. From there, she has been a dedicated psychiatric nurse at various hospitals, a few being Hoboken University Medical Center, Hoboken Community Center, Princeton University Medical Center EDU and Hackensack Meridian Hospital. She believes each individual has their own story, challenges, and life experiences that influences their mental health. Her goal is to work closely with patients to improve their quality of life by providing active listening and compassionate care using a multidisciplinary approach to treatment. As a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner, I will continue to advocate for patients who struggle to be heard or respected, manage their treatment with compassion, understanding, and attention to holistic care. Patients ultimately are more receptive to treatment if they gain a clear understanding of the treatment plan being offered by their providers.
An initial evaluation includes a comprehensive interview lasting anywhere from 60 to 90 minutes, during this time we will investigate your reason for seeking treatment. The focus will be on your current symptoms but at the same time exploring stressors and existing coping mechanisms. I will work with you to develop an appropriate treatment plan that is always collaborative.
As a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner, I will advocate for patients who struggle to be heard or respected, manage their treatment with compassion, understanding, and attention to holistic care.
As psychiatric nurse practitioners (PMHNPs) I treat patients with a wide range of mental health conditions, including: Depression, Anxiety, Schizophrenia, Bipolar disorder, Mood disorders, Stress-related disorders, Neurodevelopmental disorders, and Feeding and eating disorders.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I often use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in my practice. In your first session, we'll explore what brought you to therapy and then decide the most appropriate ways to help you make progress. With CBT, we'll look at how your thoughts affect your emotions and experience. During treatment, I'll help you learn how to push back against those thoughts to change your feelings for the better.

I did not feel judged

Fiona is one of the best mental health providers I've ever encountered. She's caring and professional, yet also compassionate. She's empathetic and helped me feel like I still matter when other providers almost made me give up on seeking help. I can only thank her and ask God to bless and bring more Fionas into the world.

Fiona felt like the missing piece to a puzzle I've been struggling completing for decades. She felt like home in our conversation and she spoke positivity and life into me even when I was trying to be down on myself. I so look forward to this therapeutic journey with Fiona!
