Hello! I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 20 years of experience providing therapy and support to individuals from all walks of life. I earned my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Social Work from San José State University. Throughout my career, I’ve been committed to creating a safe, affirming space—especially for members of the LGBTQ+ community and other marginalized groups. I believe in meeting clients where they are, honoring their lived experiences, and working collaboratively to foster healing, growth, and resilience.
In our first session, we’ll start with introductions and talk about what you can expect from therapy, as well as your role in the process. I’ll explain how telehealth sessions work and make sure you’re in a safe, private space where you feel comfortable speaking openly. We’ll discuss your goals for therapy, any past experiences you’ve had, and what you hope to gain from our work together. I’ll also go over the limits of confidentiality, including my legal obligation to report concerns such as child or elder abuse, or if there is a risk of harm to yourself or others.
One of my greatest strengths as a provider is creating a calm, safe, and supportive space where clients feel comfortable being themselves. I bring warmth and compassion to my work, and I often use humor—when appropriate—to help ease tension and build connection. I'm also reliable and value punctuality, as I believe consistency and respect for my clients’ time are essential parts of building trust.
My ideal client is someone between the ages of 18 and 70 who is ready to make meaningful changes in their life. I especially enjoy working with individuals from the LGBTQ+ community who are navigating challenges such as depression and anxiety. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and grounded in the belief that everyone has the capacity for growth and healing. I’m here to support clients in discovering their strengths, finding clarity, and creating a life that feels more aligned and fulfilling.
I have been a therapist for 25 years. CBT and Motivational Interviewing are the most used modalities in my practice. In my practice, I use CBT to help clients identify and challenge unhelpful thoughts and beliefs that contribute to their emotional distress and maladaptive behavior. Together, we develop practical skills such as cognitive restructuring, behavioral activation, and problem-solving strategies.
Motivational Interviewing is used to help clients explore their reasons for change in a supportive and nonjudgmental way. I use open-ended questions to help clients express their feelings and connect with their goals and values.
I use Solution-Focused Brief Therapy to help clients focus on their strengths and what’s already working in their lives. I help clients identify their goals and the small steps they can take to move forward.
