I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from California State University, Los Angeles, a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from Charles R. Drew University in Los Angeles, and a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from Touro University Nevada. I have more than 20 years of nursing experience, including over 15 years specializing in mental health, caring for individuals with both complex psychiatric and medical conditions. My approach to care is compassionate, respectful, and patient-centered. I strive to create a safe, supportive environment where every client feels heard, valued, and empowered. I work collaboratively with my clients to develop personalized treatment plans that promote healing, recovery, and overall well-being.

First session

I am committed to providing compassionate, respectful, and patient-centered mental health care. During our first session, my priority is to get to know you as a whole person, not just your symptoms. We will discuss your current concerns, your medical and mental health history, any medications you are taking, your lifestyle, and the goals you hope to achieve through treatment. This comprehensive assessment helps me develop a personalized treatment plan that meets your unique needs. You will have the opportunity to ask questions, share your experiences in a safe and confidential environment, and participate actively in decisions about your care. If medication is appropriate, we will discuss the available options, expected benefits, possible side effects, and answer any questions you may have. Together, we will create a treatment plan that may include medication management, psychotherapy referrals when appropriate, lifestyle recommendations, and follow-up visits to monitor your progress. My goal is for you to leave your first appointment feeling heard, valued, and hopeful, with a clear understanding of the next steps in your mental health journey. I look forward to partnering with you to support your emotional well-being and help you achieve lasting wellness.

Strengths

One of my greatest strengths as a psychiatric nurse practitioner is my ability to provide compassionate, patient-centered care while building trusting therapeutic relationships. With more than 20 years of nursing experience, including over 15 years in mental health, I have cared for individuals with a wide range of psychiatric conditions, as well as those with complex medical and mental health needs. This experience allows me to assess each client holistically and develop individualized treatment plans that address both their emotional and physical well-being. My approach stands out because I combine clinical expertise with empathy, active listening, and respect for every person's unique experiences. I strive to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel heard, valued, and empowered to participate in their care. I believe that successful treatment is built on collaboration, trust, and open communication. Drawing on my educational background—including a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from California State University, Los Angeles, a Master of Science in Nursing with a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner specialization from Charles R. Drew University, and a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Touro University Nevada—I provide evidence-based, culturally sensitive care tailored to each client's needs. My goal is not only to help clients manage symptoms but also to improve their overall quality of life and support them in achieving lasting mental wellness.

Ideal clients

My ideal clients are adolescents, adults, and older adults who are seeking compassionate, evidence-based mental health care. They may be experiencing anxiety, depression, mood disorders, trauma, stress, ADHD, sleep disturbances, or other mental health concerns that are affecting their daily lives, relationships, or overall well-being. I enjoy working with clients who are motivated to better understand their mental health and are open to collaborating on a personalized treatment plan. Whether someone is seeking help for the first time or has been managing a long-term mental health condition, I provide a safe, respectful, and nonjudgmental environment where they feel heard and valued. My goal is to empower clients to achieve emotional stability, improve their quality of life, and develop practical coping strategies that support lasting wellness. I believe that every client deserves individualized care that addresses both their mental and physical health, helping them build resilience and reach their personal goals.

Treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as an evidence-based approach to help clients understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. During our sessions, we work together to identify unhelpful thinking patterns and behaviors that may be contributing to emotional distress or mental health challenges. My approach is collaborative, supportive, and tailored to each individual's unique needs and goals. I help clients develop practical coping strategies, challenge negative thought patterns, build resilience, and learn healthier ways to respond to life's challenges. CBT is goal-oriented and focuses on providing clients with skills they can apply in their daily lives to improve their emotional well-being, relationships, and overall quality of life. As a psychiatric nurse practitioner, I integrate CBT principles with comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, medication management when appropriate, and patient education to provide holistic, compassionate care. My goal is to empower clients with the tools and confidence they need to achieve lasting, positive change and maintain their mental wellness.
