Andrew Anda
Nurse Practitioner with experience across outpatient, IOP, and PHP settings.I work with individuals navigating anxiety, OCD, depression, ADHD, mood changes, sleep issues, and substance use concerns. My background as both an inpatient nurse at Keck USC and a mental health provider has shaped my approach to care, emphasizing compassion, collaboration, and a calm, supportive presence. My goal is to create a safe, supportive space where clients feel heard and actively involved in their care.
First session
We will take time to understand what has been going on, what symptoms you’re experiencing, and what goals feel most important to you. I’ll ask about your mental health history, current stressors, sleep, mood, medications, and overall functioning. From there, we’ll work together to create a treatment plan that feels realistic, supportive, and tailored to your needs. My goal is for you to leave the first session feeling heard, understood, and clear on the next steps.
Strengths
I believe one of my greatest strengths is helping clients feel genuinely heard and supported. I bring a calm, compassionate, and down-to-earth approach to care, while also using my clinical experience to guide thoughtful treatment decisions. I enjoy helping clients better understand their symptoms, build practical coping skills, and take realistic steps toward feeling like themselves again. My goal is to create a space where clients feel safe, respected, and hopeful about their progress.
Ideal clients
I work best with individuals navigating anxiety, OCD, depression, ADHD, mood changes, substance use, and sleep concerns. I enjoy working with clients who are open to building insight, learning coping skills, and taking small, realistic steps toward feeling better. My approach is supportive, collaborative, and focused on helping clients feel more balanced, grounded, and in control so they can feel like themselves again.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I help clients identify and reframe negative thought patterns and maladaptive behaviors contributing to anxiety and mood instability. By combining CBT principles with evidence-based medication management, we work collaboratively to develop practical, actionable coping strategies for daily symptom relief.
Solution-Focused Brief Treatment
I incorporate SBFT techniques to target immediate, present-day challenges and build on existing strengths. This approach prioritizes emotional regulation, enhances distress tolerance, and empowers clients to effectively manage acute stressors alongside the pharmacotherapy regimen.
Motivational Interviewing
I support clients navigating behavior change, substance use concerns, or ambivalence regarding treatment. This collaborative, client-centered approach focuses on uncovering internal motivation, strengthening coping mechanisms, and establishing a structured foundation for psychiatric stability.
