I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of California. I have served our community since 2012 by assisting adults, children, and couples with varying life experiences in gaining clarity, perspective, and resolution. The world can be a stressful place at times, and having a safe, trustworthy, and supportive therapist can help ease our stress as we navigate the challenges of life. I have found throughout my life that people express feeling comfortable sharing their thoughts, emotions, distress, and highs of life with me. My professional experiences include serving children and adults with anxiety, depression, ADHD, grief, gender and sexual orientation-related stressors (LBGTQIA+), eating disorders, body dysmorphia, childhood onset trauma, sexual abuse, developmental delays, severe mental illness, criminogenic behaviors (also while incarcerated), military Veterans and their families, survivors and aggressors of Intimate Partner Violence, and anger management difficulties. I openly embrace people of all various backgrounds and beliefs. I believe that our world is only enriched by these differences that make us unique individuals, and we can all contribute to making this world a better place by practicing kindness to all, starting with being kind to ourselves.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help us create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I embrace people of all backgrounds, beliefs, and situations. I believe that each person is the expert on their own life experiences, and together we will work toward decreasing associated symptoms of anxiety, depression, stress, and conflict. I have compassion and respect for all of my Patients, and will genuinely support you through the highs and lows of life as we navigate through your healing journey for a more manageable and sustainable future. Communicating openly, authentically, and honestly with my Patients is an integral part of creating a safe and open environment for my Patients to communicate freely. It is important to me that my Patients feel heard, respected, and have the appropriate support to explore the complexities of life that brought them to therapy in a safe setting. I work to motivate individual adults and couples in learning strategies to help decrease symptoms of anxiety, depression, stress, and conflict. Through compassion and empathy, I enthusiastically care for those I support, and guide them through the highs and lows of life to a more manageable and sustainable future.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

As a bilingual English/Spanish speaking woman, I can understand the unique situations we experience as women when it comes to life’s daily stressors, pertaining to family, relationships, parenting, employment, education, anxiety, depression, and many of life’s challenges. I look forward to meeting you and walking this journey beside you as you continue to find the courage and strength to move through this life in a way that is healthy, meaningful, and fulfilling for you.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I’ve been using CBT in my practice for the past 12 years. It’s helped many patients challenge reoccurring thoughts and learn to manage them. We’ll use CBT to recognize how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors influence each other. We’ll then use that knowledge to change your thinking patterns, which will help you lead a less anxious and stressed life.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

ACT is a type of psychotherapy that helps patients learn to work through psychological stressors by accepting their thoughts and emotions, while committing to new behaviors that align with their values and promote a healthier and more meaningful life.

EMDR

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy is a structured psychotherapy technique often used to treat Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and other trauma-related issues. This process involves recalling upsetting memories through a process called "bilateral stimulation" such as eye movements, audio, or tapping mechanisms. Through this process we will work together on your healing journey as we guide the brain through it's natural ability to process traumatic memories and lead to a reduction in emotional distress and negative beliefs.

Grief Therapy

Grief Therapy is a form of psychotherapy that focuses on helping individual cope with the loss of a loved one. It provides a safe and supportive environment for patients to explore thoughts, emotions, memories, and work through feelings of grief to develop healthy coping mechanisms and strengthen one's ability to move forward with their lives while continuing to honor their loved one.

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)

EFT is a short-term psychotherapy where individuals learn to improve emotional connections with others, especially in relationships, by helping individuals understand emotional bonds and how they are essential for the health and well-being of relationships. EFT helps patients learn to identify any negative interactive patterns, and emphasizes the importance of emotions as being central to human experience. Helps individuals develop a greater sense of emotional awareness, empathy, and understanding one's own needs as well as the needs of others in a relationship.
