I am a License Marriage and Family Therapist. I earned my Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology. I started in this field in 1997. I worked in various different behavioral healthcare entities, providing out-patient psycho-therapy to children, adolescence, and adults. I have been in my full-time private practice since 2010. About 60% of my clients are under the age of 18, and 40% are adults.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

The initial assessment takes place. I gather all pertinent information for diagnostic and treatment planning. I then spend the remainder of time, rapport building and establishing a therapeutic relation. When I work with young children, I also work with and depend on their parent(s) or caregiver(s) in treatment planning and on-going assessment of their progress at home and or school/ environments.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My years of experience working with various demographic populations of children and adults with minor to severe behavioral health disorders.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have been utilizing this treatment model over the past 20 years. This modality of treatment is one of the most effective psychotherapies. CBT aims to help the client deal with overwhelming problems in a more positive way, which will change their actions and behavior.

Play Therapy

This is generally utilized with children, tailored to their age and stage of development. In my playroom, toys, art, music and therapeutic games are used like words, to help the child prevent or resolve psychosocial difficulties and achieve optimal growth.

EMDR

EMDR refers to Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. This treatment intervention is evidenced based proven to successfully treat trauma and PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder). It also can be used to treat other behavioral disorders. Over the years, I have utilized this treatment method and have had many positive outcomes.
