I am a psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner PMHNP-BC based in New Jersey. I received my Master's Degree from Walden University and have been practicing for 4 years but I have 30 years of experience in the medical field. I help all age groups with improving their mental health, with the ability to prescribe when needed. My specialty is medication management, but I have a broad knowledge base in mental health and holistic care.
In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions and then discuss the challenges that you have been facing. Then we will create a plan to work through in follow-up sessions.
I have worked for over 30 years in healthcare with all populations and 4 years as a psychiatric/mental health practitioner. I have a broad base of knowledge to optimize your mental health. I am a veteran and treat PTSD for over 5 years in the field. I have worked with complex cases and I am knowledgable with women's health concerns, particularly perimenopause and menopause. I work with college students and assist with anxiety disorders, along with ADHD to improve focus.
My passion is to get individuals in their best mental health as we advance toward their goals. I have 30 years in the medical field so I not only prescribe for mental health conditions but, I have a broad background of knowledge in many medical conditions. I treat the person as a whole, all of their diagnosis not just mental health.

I was referred to Marlena for medication evaluation and possible changes. We had a thorough conversation about my medications and Marlena ordered laboratory testing. I didn't know this was even an option. She made medication changes using both our conversations and the lab data. The change did what I needed. It took less than three weeks for me to feel like the new levels are doing better. I am impressed with Marlena using science and intuition when evaluation my medication.

She easily relates to everything I talk about. Reminds me of the good things and to focus on them. Very well-versed in meds as well. I'm very comfortable taking her advice with that regard.

First virtual visit was more productive than expected based on previous providers. I felt heard, we had earnest and empathetic discussion. Marlena asked intuitive questions about the challenges I'm facing, then presented thoughtful ideas for improvement. I've already booked my next session!
