I like to approach our sessions with a structure agenda and allow for the client to take ownership of the sessions. I like to assign homework assignments to reinforce concepts discussed during the session. I also use check in all through out the session to assess how the client is responding to the treatment strategies. In addition, I like to motivate client by helping them break down their overall goals into small and attainable objectives.
During the first session, we cover inform consent, how long the session will take, the main approach utilize throughout our session, and a series of questions to assess for their symptoms, severity of symptoms and how these symptoms impact daily functioning. I also like to discuss client expectations in relation to attendance and active participation in therapy, reason for termination, and ways to communicate in between sessions.
I engage client with a mix of holding space and challenge client's thought and behaviors that are not helping out their situation. I engage in compassionate reflections to help client develop helpful self talk. I also make sure to show up for the client in a consistent and open way.
I am best position to serve clients who are looking to increase motivation and have at least one therapy goal in mind. I also enjoy working with client who are receiving mental health therapy for the first time in their life. I work well with first time parents. In addition, I work well with men trying to work on their marriage and looking to improved their overall health.

I help people identify triggers of emotional distress. Then, I assist them in drawing the connections between their thoughts, feeling and behaviors associated with such triggers. I aid individuals to develop strategies to best manage their thoughts that influence how they feel and behave. I always focus on helping individuals to see their choices and process what they think about such choices so they can best align with their personal goals.
Humanistic
My approach to working with individuals in distress focuses on taking the time to connect and develop the therapeutic relationship. A trusting therapeutic relationship helps to understand the person as a whole and the different aspects of their life that get on the way of becoming the best version of themselves.
Motivational Interviewing
I use motivational interviewing to help individuals make different choices and help create thinking around what gets on the way of making such choices and behaving accordingly.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
I utilize solution focus treatment go identify what gets on the way of change, validated feelings about such changes, and engage in curious conversations about what maybe a solution to perceived problems. I enjoy helping evaluate outcome and guide the patient in trying a different solution when feeling stuck.

I like to listen carefully to patients, take my time to ask questions, and reflect on what the patient said.
