My goal is to help my clients feel fulfilled in their life. I have 20 years of professional work experience in mental health. I have experience in helping clients with stress and anxiety, coping with life transitions issues, trauma and abuse. I believe that you are the expert of your story and that you have many strengths that will assist you in overcoming things that challenge you. It takes courage to seek out a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. I am here to support and empower you in your journey.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During our initial session, we will focus on establishing rapport and then proceed to explore the specific challenges you are encountering. This will provide me with the necessary insights to devise a personalized plan for our subsequent sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I have found that my style and approach works well with older adults, adults, children and families. It is challenging to deal with life changes which may result in anxiety, depression, and confusion about life.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I enjoy working with adults and older adults at every stage of their journey. My clients are motivated to improve but may lack the necessary tools to make their goals a reality. Often, they feel stuck, overwhelmed, and anxious during certain seasons of their lives.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Over the past ten years, I have been integrating cognitive behavioral techniques (CBT) into my work, beginning during my time as a therapist working in various positions. It was there that I first encountered the power of this approach in helping individuals, particularly children, adolescents and adults manage the challenges they faced. Since then, I have refined my practice, using CBT to empower people to identify and confront cognitive distortions and harmful behavioral patterns. By guiding individuals to recognize how their thoughts influence their emotions and actions, I help them shift negative thinking patterns that affect their mental, physical, and emotional well-being. This process is incredibly rewarding, as I witness firsthand how individuals can begin to heal, gain perspective, and ultimately create healthier, more balanced lives. My experience with CBT has not only shaped my professional growth but has also deepened my personal understanding of the mind-body connection. Through this work, I am constantly reminded of the profound impact that self-awareness and cognitive change can have on overcoming life's challenges.

Humanistic

I've been using the person-centered technique for 20 years. It is the core treatment theory that I learned to apply since my undergraduate studies. In practice and in my personal life, I apply the theory of allowing people to feel safe in being human, free from judgment.
