Hi! I am Anne Gimbel, licensed marriage and family therapist, and I begin by meeting you at your place of growth or need for healing. My goal with individuals, couples, or families is to explore and identify the thoughts that have a direct impact on your emotions and behaviors. Whether dealing with life-cycle issues, trauma, abuse, grief, recovery, or other changes that are occurring, I am active in the process to help you overcome these challenges. We will build a life you deserve by learning better communication and setting boundaries for your future.
After brief introductions and some history, we delve into your goals for therapy and we work together to solve them. Getting to know each other is a comfortable conversation and most see this as a pleasant time to set our foundation for our work together.
I am told that my strengths are being non-judgemental and easy to talk with as a calming atmosphere is present as we speak.
Although I use many different methods for our session, understanding our thinking or cognitions and how they influence our behavior is key to all treatment methods. Our cognitions process our judgement, our problem solving, and our perceptions that may need some revisions.
Certified by the Couples Institute, I use these methods to understand partnering and this can lead to all relationship behaviors that may need to be reexamined.
Using the trauma parts of our lives, we apply and find the reasons that these parts are influencing and preventing progess.
