Clyde Smith
My ideal client is someone who is open-minded, curious, and ready to actively participate in their healing journey. They may feel stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected, but they have a spark of hope that things can get better—and they’re willing to explore both traditional and alternative paths to get there. They’re not just looking for a quick fix, but for real, lasting transformation. They’re open to understanding how their lifestyle, environment, past experiences, and spiritual health affect their mental well-being. Whether they’ve tried medication before or never have, they’re willing to explore a balanced, personalized treatment plan that may include supplements, mindfulness, nutrition, or inner work—alongside evidence-based psychiatric care.
This journey has given me a deep sense of empathy, humility, and a real-world understanding of how complex and nonlinear healing can be.
Most importantly, they value collaboration. They don’t expect me to “fix” them, but they trust in the process and in themselves. They’re ready to take ownership of their growth, ask questions, and be gently challenged in a space that’s grounded in compassion, safety, and deep respect.
First session
Our first session is a space for deep listening, reflection, and connection. It’s not about rushing into a diagnosis or a prescription—it’s about understanding you as a whole person. Together, we’ll explore your mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual health, including what’s been working, what hasn’t, and what you truly want for yourself moving forward. I’ll ask about your history, lifestyle, stressors, sleep, nutrition, relationships, and more—because all of it matters in your healing journey. You can expect a nonjudgmental, grounded space where you are heard, respected, and supported. If appropriate, we’ll discuss integrative treatment options—from medication and therapy to mindfulness practices, nutrition, or herbal support—and begin crafting a care plan that feels aligned and empowering for you. Most importantly, this is your time. My role is to walk beside you, not ahead of you.
Strengths
One of my greatest strengths as a provider is my own lived experience with mental health and life’s challenges. I don’t just understand emotional pain from textbooks—I’ve walked through it myself. This journey has given me a deep sense of empathy, humility, and a real-world understanding of how complex and nonlinear healing can be. It allows me to show up with authenticity, to sit with people in their darkest moments without judgment, and to hold hope when they can’t yet find it themselves. Because I’ve been there, I don’t see my clients as broken—I see them as human, resilient, and capable of transformation.
Ideal clients
I am best positioned to serve individuals who are seeking more than just symptom management—they are looking for a deeper, more holistic path to healing. These clients may be navigating depression, anxiety, trauma, or mood disorders, and feel that conventional care alone hasn’t fully addressed their needs. They are open to exploring both evidence-based psychiatric treatment and integrative practices such as nutrition, mindfulness, herbal support, and spiritual inquiry. Many of them are high-functioning but internally struggling, sensitive, intuitive, or spiritually inclined. They value a provider who listens deeply, honors their lived experience, and partners with them to uncover the root causes of their suffering. Whether they are new to mental health care or seasoned in their journey, they are ready for a compassionate, personalized approach that treats them as a whole person—mind, body, and spirit.
Treatment methods
Integrative
As a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, I approach mental health with a deep belief that true healing integrates mind, body, and spirit. My practice blends evidence-based psychiatric care with holistic and Eastern modalities, including nutrition, mindfulness, herbal support, and lifestyle medicine. I aim to understand each person’s unique story and root causes—not just symptoms—so that we can co-create a personalized path toward long-term wellness. Whether we're using medication, therapy, or alternative practices, my focus is always on empowering individuals to reconnect with their inner balance and reclaim their fullest, most authentic self.
Mind-body approach
As a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, I take a mind–body approach to mental health care, recognizing that emotional well-being is closely connected to physical health, lifestyle, and nutrition. My goal is to support clients in understanding the full picture of their wellness, not just their symptoms. In our work together, we explore factors such as stress, sleep, nutrition, movement, and daily habits, while using evidence-based psychiatric care and medication management when appropriate. I strive to create a supportive and collaborative environment where clients feel heard and empowered
