Hello, my name is Cori Harral and I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) working with clients throughout the state of California. I work with clients to focus on building emotional resilience and personal growth to help improve their wellbeing. I specialize in DBT and CBT with a client-centered approach to help navigate life's challenges and better understand oneself. This is done not only with support and kindness but acceptance as well. We will work collaboratively to identify individual needs and goals to help commit to new coping skills to better manage difficulties in life.
During our first session, we will discuss some of your main concerns to help better understand what you are experiencing. Along with that, we will discuss ways I can best support you and the expectations of therapy. Understanding each individual helps provide direction for treatment.
I want my clients to feel comfortable by creating a calming, warm, and understanding environment each session. I listen to each concern without judgment and allow open communication to discuss ways to improve the our alliance. With openness and vulnerability, we can navigate the best way to make adjustments in life and improve one's wellbeing.
I have worked with a variety of clients and work to adjust to the needs of each client. I frequently focus on emotional regulation therapy to help lessen and manage symptoms of depression, anxiety, and stress. Together we work to develop skills that work best for the client and improve their emotional awareness with mindfulness.
I work with clients to help identify their own needs in regards to themselves, relationships, work, etc. Identifying your own needs and compassion can help lessen the impact of expectations and judgments from yourself and others. Together we also work on learning to explore and express your emotions to gain a better understanding of your experiences and ways to move forward.
I work with clients to help improve their emotional awareness and emotional regulation skills. This helps make it easier to work through problems that come your way and lessen emotional fatigue. Together we also work on learning to accept the realities of life and focus on what falls within our control and can be changed.
I work with clients to help challenge and replace unhelpful thoughts in order to look at situations and problems with a more realistic lens. We also assess unhelpful behaviors to identify ways to make small or big adjustments to improve your wellbeing.
I work on helping clients change their self-talk to one that is compassionate and gives them grace. It can be an uncomfortable transition so we work on small, sustainable changes in our language. Compassion allows for space to nurture ourselves rather than remaining critical of our experiences and actions.
I provide education and handouts on a variety of topics and skills that can be used to improve one's wellbeing. We discuss ways to put these skills in practice in order to make it a bit easier to adjust and create sustainable ways to improve your wellbeing.
