Jerome Scaturro is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Clinical Alcohol & Drug Counselor in the state of New Jersey who has 12 years’ experience working with adults, couples, and teenagers (ages 15 to 19) seeking assistance with addiction, trauma, anxiety, depression, life transitions, men’s and women’s issues, as well as relationship challenges. He earned his Master's degree in Professional Counseling from Liberty University and is currently pursuing his Doctorate in Professional Counseling. Jerome employs identifiable, collaborative, compassion- and empathy-based, cognitive-behavioral, mindfulness-based, and solution-focused therapeutic approaches, continually seeking to deepen individual awareness of issues in order to effectively address the needs of each individual and couple for growth and healing. His primary objective is to establish a trusting, respectful, and authentic relationship with clients, enabling them to share vulnerabilities, feelings, and thoughts. This openness facilitates the process of healing, growth, and living a meaningful life according to personal values and aspirations.
The initial introduction will focus on establishing rapport, setting therapeutic goals, and identifying the necessary direction to pursue.
My strongest quality as a provider is my genuine compassion and my skill in establishing a trusting relationship within the therapeutic setting.
I do not have a 'special' clientele that I am specifically positioned to serve. I serve all clientele. My specialties, if I were to define them, range from addiction, anxiety, depression, couples therapy, trauma-focused treatment, to life challenges, among others.
I employ this form of therapy by confronting thoughts that lead to particular behaviors and habits conditioned from childhood. We leverage this foundation to provide the client with a new realm of thinking that can motivate, inspire, and facilitate healing towards change and healthy behaviors, ultimately enhancing relationships.
Through collaborative guidance, I facilitate a constructive equilibrium whereby each individual is encouraged to observe their personal behaviors and thoughts that impact the relationship. With this secure and genuine approach, couples can restore and realign their shared purpose as a partnership.
I examine some of the underlying causes of potential unhealthy attachments, which have become conditioned (subconscious) responses to early adaptive features that were learned.
Together, we explore mindfulness techniques such as movement, spiritual practices—if that aligns with one's path—present-moment reflections, and intentional journaling. These methods aim to assist individuals in addressing subconscious and unconscious thoughts that influence current people, places, and circumstances in their lives.
I examine some past and current traumas that have a direct impact on an individual's daily life, particularly in all relationship dynamics involving people, places, and objects.
