LCSW, 13 years of experience
New to Grow
I have over a decade of experience working with newborns, biological parents, foster parents, and other caregivers in a mental health setting. My expertise is working with nee parents and those adapting during the perinatal and post partum phase of life. Or managing loss or stress that may occur during this time. While I am trained in multiple evidence based treatments, I believe that the relationship between a therapist and client is key. I find that the best therapy is client led and driven by a genuine understanding of client strengths and personality. I take time to get to know and appreciate clients’ uniqueness so that we can collaborate on ways to cope and find joy during difficult life phases.
In our first session we will review your current symptoms, discuss your lifestyle, family, and health history along with other influencing factors. There will also be time for you to ask me about my therapeutic approach or tell me what is important to you in a therapeutic relationship .
I use an attachment and trauma focused lense which highlights the ways our environment has shaped us. I will always look for the skills, resources, or opportunities to help you build positivity versus emphasizing what is going wrong.
If you are a caregiver or parent, hoping to become one, or have struggled with loss or grief related to fertility and want to gain a sense of happiness and peace, we might be a great match. These life adjustments can trigger trauma related symptoms, rage, anxiety, and depression, along with other serious symptoms. If you are feeling overwhelmed or struggling to stay on too of things, please reach out to schedule an intake.
We may use cognitive behavioral therapy to help recognize and change unhelpful patterns. This type of therapy is particularly helpful if you are ready to make changes but need support understanding what to prioritize and where to start that will have the biggest impact on your mental health.
I use a combination of evidence based methods based on your individual needs and goals. Every person has a different story, trauma history, and set of strengths that we will tap into to help reduce symptoms and improve your quality of life.
