Hi! I am a psychologist licensed in Texas and California. I have worked in the mental health field in various capacities for the past 20 years. I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology with a minor in Law and Society and Masters of Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, CA. I earned my Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Howard University in Washington, DC. I have worked as a psychologist with the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, Veterans Health Administration and various local and federal law enforcement agencies. I currently own and operate Healthy Families Counseling Center, PLLC, a private psychology practice dedicated to assisting individuals, couples and families heal from trauma, relationship distress and other concerns affecting daily life.

In our first session together, we'll start with introductions and a comprehensive intake assessment to identify the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions

I love helping women heal from traumatic childhood or relationship experiences. I also love working with adolescents to address anxiety and depressive symptoms while improving self-esteem. Finally, I enjoy helping couples and families improve communication and relationship dynamics. I provide assessment services in order to diagnose a variety of disorders and/or determine employment suitability.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I assist clients with recognizing their core beliefs and unhealthy thinking patterns are a result of trauma experiences. I help clients challenge and change these thoughts and beliefs in order to reduce distress.
Cognitive Processing (CPT)
I am certified provider of Cognitive Processing Therapy, an evidence based treatment for PTSD. I assist clients with recognizing their unhealthy thinking patterns are a result of trauma experiences. I help clients challenge and change thoughts and beliefs in order to reduce distress.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-i)
I am certified provider of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia, an evidence based treatment for insomnia.
Couples Counseling
I earned a Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy and have been offering couples and family counseling services for the past 20 years. I am also certified in Cognitive Behavioral Conjoint Therapy for PTSD, an evidenced-based therapy to treat relationship concerns as a result of trauma.
