Hi! My name is Ned and am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW). I enjoy working with a range of ages. My youngest clients can be as young as 10 while my oldest clients may be in their 80s or older! I received a Master of Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania. Presently I enjoy working with clients via telehealth as it adds ease and convenience. No more driving to an office! Just connect via a computer, tablet, or phone.
In our first session, we will begin by getting to know each other. It's a great way to ensure that I am a good fit for you before discussing more details about your life. I will also ask you some questions to help me provide you with the best treatment. Next, we will work collaboratively to set the goals for treatment that you want to achieve. Only after we finish that do we start working on the goals that you set.
One of my greatest strengths is being a good listener. I want to hear what you have to say. Once I listen and ask some clarifying questions, I can begin to suggest strategies to help get to get the root of the issues you bring in to therapy.
I love working with people of nearly all ages! I have worked well with children (ages 10 and up), adolescents, adults, and older adults! I also enjoy working with the LGBT community as well.
I have been using CBT in my practice since 2008. CBT helps people recognize their automatic negative thought patterns. The way we think often colors how we feel. When we learn to reject these thoughts, and replace them with more positive and realistic thoughts, we start to feel better and make better choice in our lives.
