Dr. Irma Da Silva

LMFT (she/her)10 years of experience

I’m Irma Da Silva, PhD, LMFT, and I approach therapy as a space for meaningful conversations that can help you reconnect with yourself, your relationships, and the life you want to be living. My work is deeply shaped by my own understanding of how our stories are influenced by relationships, culture, family, and the environments we move through. I hold a lot of respect for the complexity of people’s lives—especially when it comes to navigating identity, transitions, expectations, and the quiet pressures that can shape how we see ourselves. In therapy, I aim to create a space where you feel comfortable being real—whether that means sorting through something heavy, making sense of patterns, or simply having a place where you don’t have to carry everything on your own. At the same time, I’m not a passive listener. I’m engaged, thoughtful, and collaborative. I will ask questions, offer reflections, and work with you to think through decisions, relationships, and the direction you want your life to move toward.

First session

Our first session is a space for you to begin sharing your story at your own pace, while also starting to make sense of what’s been feeling difficult or unclear. I focus on creating a space where you feel comfortable, understood, and not judged. At the same time, we’ll gently begin to identify what you’re hoping for, explore patterns, and think together about possible directions forward. I may ask reflective questions, offer observations, and begin collaborating with you around what changes or shifts might feel meaningful in your life. You don’t need to have everything figured out—this is both a place to feel supported and a starting point for gaining clarity, direction, and a sense of what’s possible moving forward.

Strengths

My greatest strength is my ability to balance deep relational work with practical, forward movement. I create a space where you feel emotionally grounded, safe, and understood—while also helping you think through your life in a more intentional and empowered way. In our work, we don’t just process feelings—we also explore options, reflect, re-evaluate, and collaborate on how you want to move forward. I support you in making sense of patterns, strengthening relationships, and identifying meaningful ways to respond differently, make decisions, and create change in your life. Clients often appreciate that our conversations feel both emotionally supportive and actively helpful. We can sit with the depth of your experiences, while also brainstorming, strategizing, and building clarity around what comes next. I also bring a strong focus on meaning and purpose, helping you explore what kind of life feels most aligned with who you are, your values, and what matters most to you. My goal is to support you not only in feeling 'better' but in living in a way that feels more intentional, fulfilling, and authentically your own.
