Welcome, welcome! I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in the state of Maryland and have been for 13 years. I received my master's degree from Radford University in Virginia and have been working with adults on a number of issues such as coping with anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and traumatic events that have led people to personal despair and heartache.
When we first meet, we'll start by introducing ourselves and briefly discuss what brought you to therapy. This will help us work together on a plan of how we can accomplish your goals on what it is you seek.
Having worked with several of different clients and backgrounds, I feel my greatest strength is listening actively. I have found that everyone has a story to tell and want someone to tell it to. I am not afraid of challenges and am willing to support people in the best way that I can.
I believe that by participating in counseling, you are bravely taking the first step to invest in yourself, to create a better you, and ultimately lead a life of optimal health: mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. I look forward to working with you!
My style is eclectic because I use bits and pieces of theoretical orientations from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to Solution Focused Behavioral Therapy and everything in between. I feel that it is important to match the treatment to the client as opposed to the client to the treatment.
