Natasha Morales

LCSW (she/her)15 years of experience

Hello and welcome to my profile page. My name is Natasha Morales and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I bring a strong background in crisis intervention, behavioral health, and systems-based care, with a focus on stabilizing individuals, building trust, and supporting meaningful change during critical points in their lives. My experience allows me to work effectively across diverse populations from justice-involved youth and adults to individuals and families navigating end-of-life care. Overall I am committed to providing structured, compassionate and practical support to individuals facing some of life's most challenging circumstances.

First session

Your first session is focused on getting to know you, understand what brought you to therapy, and beginning to build a strong, supportive, therapeutic relationship. There is no pressure to share everything at once- you set the pace. Limits confidentiality are discussed. Intake paperwork is reviewed.

Strengths

I am strong at engagement and trust-building with guarded clients. I create a therapeutic experience that contains a balance of accountability and support. I am effective in high-acuity situations, change of life events (crisis, reintegrating back into society, navigating major life transitions, dealing with layered trauma and instability, grief and loss, end of life).

Ideal clients

I am well positioned to serve individuals who are high risk, incarcerated and difficult to engage adolescents who often present with complex behavioral, emotional and environmental challenges. My approach is grounded in meeting clients where they are, recognizing that resistance is often a reflection of past experiences, unmet needs, or lack of trust in systems, rather than a lack of willingness to change. I work effectively with individuals who may present with complex behavioral patterns, emotional dysregulation, trauma histories, or involvement in the criminal justice system. In my work, I prioritize building rapport and trust as a foundation for engagement. I use direct , respectful and transparent communication style that resonates with clients who may be skeptical of treatment. Through CBT, I help clients examine thinking patterns that contribute to high-risk behaviors while DBT skills support emotional regulation, impulse control, and distress tolerance.

Treatment methods

Solution-Focused Brief Treatment

I utilize the Solution Focused Treatment Method in my practice as part of my core part of my clinical approach, emphasizing my clients strengths, resilience, and capacity for change rather than focus primarily on their problems or pathology.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

My experience with CBT involved helping my clients understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, and how these patterns influence their overalll functioning. In session I work collaboratively with my clients to identify maladaptive or unhelpful thought patterns that may be contributing to their distress. I support them in challenging and identifying their cognitive distortions, and develop a more balanced and realistic perspective. I provide psychoeducation to my clients to help them understand the CBT mode and normalize their experiences I assign between session homework to reinforce skills learned in session to promote continued progress outside of therapy.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

DBT is an important component of my clinical approach, particularly when working with clients who experience intense emotions, or challenges in interpersonal relationships. Skills taught to my clients using this modality are emotion regulation, mindfulness, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness.
