Nancy White
Hi! I am an LCSW based in North Eastern Pennsylvania. I received my Masters in Social Work from the University of Connecticut. I have worked in the mental health field for 30 years in a variety of settings. My clients have been from all age groups and been experiencing all kinds of concerns. I help people who are struggling move towards a more healthy mind set.
First session
In our first session, we will start with brief introductions. I will ask clients to tell me about their concerns and any symptoms they may be experiencing. I may ask about your expectations for therapy and other questions to help us develop a treatment plan.
Strengths
I feel like the connection between a client and therapist is one of the most important factors in successful therapy. I am willing to work hard on developing a safe and trusting therapeutic alliance.
Ideal clients
I enjoy working with people who are willing to talk about their problems. I am willing to meet people where they are at and admire with the courage to start this journey to improved mental health.
Treatment methods
Attachment-based
I examine how attachment styles influence current relationships and overall happiness.
Psychoanalytic
I believe that many conflicts in our current lives stem from past experiences.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
I am certified in DBT. I often use DBT concepts and skills to aid in session.
Trauma-Informed Care
I recognize that many have faced trauma, and I believe therapy sessions should provide a safe space.
Psychodynamic
I recognize how a person's past experiences influence their current mindset. I apply this understanding when addressing interpersonal and relationship conflicts through psychodynamic techniques.
