I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and I’m a registered supervisor with my board. In my career, I’ve had the opportunity to work in a variety of settings within public health, mental health treatment, substance use treatment, inpatient treatment, and private practice. While I have training in a number of therapeutic models, I primarily utilize existential approaches in therapy since their tenants are relatively universal in nature and relate well to most people's experiences. These tenants focus on an individual’s search for meaning, fears of loss, feelings of isolation, and the foundations of hope we build for ourselves. In terms of other models of treatment, I have certifications in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectic Behavioral Therapy, Critical Incident Stress Management, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. I have extensive training in culturally-integrated therapy, sexual health therapy, cyberpsychology, and Gottman-based therapies for couples. I have had the privilege to work with a wide range of clients in terms of age, gender, race, social economic status, and acuity of symptoms. While everyone has something unique to bring to therapy I find the most fulfillment working with couples, those dealing with issues regarding their sexuality, first responders (police, firefighters, EMT’s), individuals recovering from trauma, and people dealing with concerns with technology such as video game or online addiction. Regardless of what you are looking for from therapy, my aspiration is to provide an open and welcoming environment where a collaborative relationship can be built to assist you in exploring concerns that you have in your life.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In the initial intake, we'll first briefly go through the logistics and limitations of therapy. From there, we focus on what you want out of therapy. Depending on you as a person, we can explore your issues in a structured or unstructured method. We normally start to look at goal setting within the first session but it's fine it this is less fully articulated until later sessions. Finally, we close out with me summarizing what I think your situation is and what might be helpful in terms of treatment. I take feedback from clients about their initial session and then we look at scheduling. I might also send some initial resources to work on in between sessions depending you your preferences.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) Integrated Dual Disorders Treatment (IDDT) Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) Dialectical Behavioral Treatment (DBT) Motivational Interview (MI) Art Therapy Extensive Cultural Competency Training Extensive training in Trauma-Informed Care Advanced Training in Telebehavioral health Services Extensive LGBQT+ trainings Psychological and Neurological Testing

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Feedback from current and past clients has highlighted my ability to listen actively and recall small details from past sessions. Folks have voiced appreciation for my ability to connect with them and assist them in reframing critical areas of their lives. I've also heard a sizable amount of appreciation for integrating metaphors and culture into sessions. Clients have also appreciated my timeliness in responses to inquires. Normally, I return emails and calls within a day or less.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

Because my background is varied and my training is extensive there is a wide range of clients I can serve effectively. In particular, I am most able to serve those managing trauma, grief, existential concerns, identity issues, sexual health issues, relationship issues, and acculturation difficulties.
