New to Grow
As a queer, first-generation woman myself, I am passionate about working with people facing different life challenges. My specialty includes individual therapy with adults and teens with a focus on depression, anxiety, LGBTQ+/coming out challenges, immigrant/first-generation challenges, and trauma. I want my clients feel safe and respected in session with me in order to navigate life's challenges together with curiosity, compassion, and authenticity. Drawing from an intersectional, culturally-responsive, attachment-based, and compassion-focused approach, my goal is to support clients to build insight, strengthen resilience, and move toward meaningful and lasting change.
Our first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and begin building a trusting therapeutic relationship. We'll discuss what brings you to therapy, explore your personal history, current challenges, and identify what you hope to gain from therapy. You can expect a collaborative and nonjudgmental space where we will move at your pace.
Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, my hope is to tailor therapy to each client's unique needs, experiences, values, relationships, and intersecting identities. I am likely to sit quietly and hold space but will gently push back when necessary. I deeply value humor and will integrate humor into my sessions (when appropriate).
My passion and strength lies in work with LGBTQ+ individuals, immigrants and first-generation clients, and those exploring questions of identity, belonging, and purpose. I also enjoy supporting folks who are navigating career transitions, managing anxiety and/or depression, or striving for a healthier work-life balance. My goal is to provide an affirming and culturally responsive space where you can better understand yourself, build resilience, and create a life that feels authentic and fulfilling.
Other specialties
I identify as
Attachment-based
I use Attachment-Based therapy to explore how early relationships and life experiences shape the way we connect with ourselves and others. Together, we identify patterns that may be affecting your relationships, well-being, or sense of security, while working to build healthier relationships and understanding with yourself and others.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
CBT has helped so many of my clients challenge recurring thoughts to manage anxiety and depression. We'll use CBT to recognize how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors interact with one another. We'll then use that knowledge to challenge your thought patterns, which can help you lead a more relaxed and grounded life.
Compassion Focused
I use Compassion Focused Therapy to help clients build a more supportive and understanding relationship with themselves, especially if they struggle with shame, self-criticism, or feelings of not being good enough. I will integrate evidence-based techniques to strengthen self-compassion, emotional regulation skills, and foster a greater sense of confidence, resilience, and emotional well-being.
Culturally Sensitive Therapy
As a queer Middle-Eastern woman myself, I firmly believe effective therapy honors the unique cultural identities, values, and lived experiences of each individual client. My goal is to create an inclusive, affirming space where we can explore how culture, family, community, and systems influence your mental health while tailoring treatment to align with your needs and goals.
Feminist
I recognize that our mental health is shaped by the ways our identities, such as gender, race, culture, sexuality, disability, and socioeconomic status intersect with systems of power and oppression. I work to create a collaborative, affirming space to explore these influences, build on your strengths, and support meaningful change that aligns with your values and lived experiences.
