Welcome, my name is Fran Haggerty and I want to thank you for choosing therapy. Thank you for dedicating your time and energy into improving your situation. I am confident that Therapy will benefit you greatly and provide you with the necessary tools to help you sort through your challenges. My goal is to create a safe and supportive space for you to explore your thoughts and feelings. Together, we will navigate the challenges you are facing and create an improvement plan that will allow you to move forward with confidence. I value your dedication and commitment to this process that has proven invaluable to many who have garnered the strength to improve their lives. I have been a licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) since 2002 and have worked with men, women, and couples to improve their ability to think logically and communicate effectively. I aspire to work with individuals, couples, and young adults who are feeling overwhelmed with what life has thrown at them. These challenges include increased anxiety, depression, addiction, self-esteem, and embracing the confidence to move forward. My professional approach combines evidence-based interventions including CBT, and motivational interviewing, along with proven coaching strategies to effectively accomplish your goals.
Together, we will identify your challenges and goals - where you want your life to be a month, six months, a year from now. Then, we'll identify options and strategies you can use to get there. You'll leave the session with a better understanding of what you're facing with an "actions I can take right now" approach. There will always be room for suggestions concerning our work together, including keeping each other accountable.
My ability to listen, empathize, and identify root causes are among my greatest strengths. I will work with you to develop a comprehensive personal develop plan that will provide you with coping mechanisms and emotional encouragement for you to achieve your goals.
We will utilize intervention strategies to change the clients thought patterns by identifying ones distortions in thinking that is affecting their behaviors. Through discussions, we will gain a better understanding of the harmful behaviors/beliefs and identify coping strategies to improve confidence and mental stability
The Strength-based therapy is a type of positive Psychotherapy and counseling that focues on your internal strengths and resourcefulness, rather then on your weaknesses, failures, and shortcomings. The tenet is that this focus sets up a positive mindset that helps you build on your best qualities, find your strengths, and change your world view to one that is more positive.
Positive Psychology is a branch of psychology focused on the character strengths and behaviors that allow individuals to build a life of meaning and purpose - to move beyond surviving to flourishing.
