I have always had a passion for the human experience. This and the experience of a colorful life have inspired me to commit my life to helping others. I believe myself to be a warm, authentic, empathetic and nonjudgemental human. This helps me to show up for you in the ways you need. I have found my life has prepared me to helping individuals and couples with symptoms like anxiety, depression, trauma and stage of life transitions. I enjoy working with adolescents and adults, men and women.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

We will begin building a relationship that will support the therapeutic process. In our first session we will begin with making sure you are well informed with the process of therapy. We will also identify what you want to accomplish during our time together. Last we will identify the appropriate therapeutic modality that will support your symptoms and personality. Ultimately you are the focus and we will approach this process prioritizing your needs .

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I have lived what I refer to as a colorful life. This includes many adverse childhood and life experiences. I was privileged to have the opportunity to do my own personal work and end the generational patterns I experienced. This gives me the unique ability to empathize with others and their life struggles. Furthermore my own therapeutic process has given me the opportunity to learn about forgiveness and empathy for others. This allows me to show up with out judgement for people as they live the human experience. My education came from an institution that approaches the therapeutic process from a more cognitive and traditional space while my internship and training came from a holistic, in depth approach. This has prepared me to meet to meet my clients needs on a broader spectrum than those with a more narrow education and experience. I am constantly participating in trainings to further broaden my specialties and ability to treat clients effectively. I look forward to supporting you.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

In the course of my experience I have provided services to a large array of individuals. The work I have enjoyed the most has been with adolescents, adults and couples. Most of these individuals have come to me for symptoms related to anxiety, depression, crises and stage of life changes. Further more I like working with people who are ready to build a relationship with me where they can be truly be vulnerable and explore how they can repair past wounds and increase acceptance for their past at their own pace.

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

Often we find ourself dealing with anxiety and depression as a result of our own behaviors, thoughts or external influences. I use Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) to decipher between what we can and can't control. From here we use acceptance to find peace with what we can not change. Lastly we resource our values and beliefs to guide our decision making to avoid behaviors and thoughts that can lead to emotional distress.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Our brains are very good at helping us avoid danger. Unfortunately this can get out of hand if we believe everything it tells us. Using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy we can increase the awareness of these thoughts, decide if they are helpful or not and find more helpful ways of thinking to reduce the occurrence of unhelpful thoughts that increase out unwanted emotions throught to emotional connection we have to that thought.

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)

When we fight with our loved ones it usually never really about the trash. I use emotionally focused therapy to help clients identify the secondary emotion being triggered in relational interaction so the client can share this need with their loved one to find

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

There is a general belief that some emotions are good and some are bad. When we have this belief we can incorporate bad habits into our lives that cam lead to an increase in unwanted symptoms. I use Internal Family Symptoms to help clients identify these emotions, get to know them and create a better relationship with them and themselves with the goal increasing overall acceptance and self love.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

As human beings we have very active brains that provide thoughts that are sometimes helpful and sometimes not. When we think about the past it can often make up sad and when we think about the future it can make us anxious. I incorporate Mindfulness-Based Therapy to help teach and provide tools to clients to both keep them in the present and opten help with reducing source of anxiety and depression.
