I am an independent licensed clinical/certified Social Worker. I first started my career in Child Welfare in various states/levels of government as an investigator and elevated to a supervisory role. I also hail from the US Department of Veterans Affairs in a Management role. However, it is my pleasure to now serve as Therapist and in my private practice. My main specialty areas include, but are not limited to Depression, Anxiety, Trauma/PTSD, Intimate Partner Violence, Grief and Loss, Narcissism, Codependency, Geriatric, etc.
Our first session together will be an intake session where we will have a chance to get to know each other. It will be an introduction for us and we will get a chance to know each other. We will discuss and formulate a treatment plan for further work as well as address any concerns or fears about the therapeutic experience. At the end of the intake session generally the modality, the goal and the number of sessions up to the termination/discharge session will also be decided.
So my niche area is working through past trauma with clients as a means to becoming their best self. It is important to address trauma as past trauma informs who were are in the present. However, being trauma focused means that you focus on uncovering any positive outcome as the result of said trauma or any lessons learned that can help foster personal growth. Once it is determined how trauma has shaped your life, good or bad, then we focus on moving forward to achieve healing. The goal is for clients to heal through use of trauma informed techniques that foster a feeling of safety, ease, and empowerment.
I enjoy working with clients who are struggling to live their best lives by putting their trauma behind and ready to prioritize their needs.

I enjoy meeting with Sharon. She is so insightful and is a wonderful listener. She is able to take my long winded response and give a clear term for it and solution. I needed someone who would be direct and honest with me and she dues just that. I am fortunate to have her as my therapist!

I have never felt so connected to a therapist within the first five minutes of meeting them. I have no doubt in my mind that this is exactly who I was meant to be paired with.
