Hello there, so glad you're here, I’m Juliana (she/her), but you can call me Julie. Have you ever felt that life just hasn't been going the way you'd envisioned? That things seem "too hard to handle"? Are relationships too hard to keep healthy because "you don't feel like you"? I'm here to help navigate to get you to a place of "feeling like yourself again." I am a therapist with over 12 years of experience who works with adolescents and young adults. I work to grow the resiliency skills that you already possess, seeking ways to self-care as a way to manage stress, how to express yourself and other ways to improve communication skills, explore who you want to be, and how to get there and everything in between. I empower individuals to overcome anxiety and depression through organic discussions and the introduction of boundary-setting (internally and externally), self-regulating techniques, and stress management. I love to use a multimodality approach that best suits your needs. I look forward to working along side of you.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During the first session, you can expect to spend time getting to know each other, focusing on building a trusting therapeutic relationship in order to gather information regarding what the main struggles are as well as exploring goals that you'd like to achieve in treatment.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I specialize in working with adolescents and young adults during transitions of life that at times increase stress.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I enjoy working with a young adults and adolescents who are going through life transitions into adulthood.

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

ACT focuses on accepting that uncomfortable feelings and unwanted thoughts will come, but we work on disengaging or defusing from these thoughts in order to decrease the distress these cause. We will focus on spending that energy on things that are fulfilling and align better with your values. The use of mindfulness techniques is explored in order to manage times when disengagement is difficult.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT focuses on the idea that automatic thoughts we have from an event, impact our emotions, physiological sensations and behaviors. So, if we change out thoughts it helps alleviate our negative emotions, physical symptoms and our behaviors. So we work on changing these things in treatment with hopes to engage in things that you enjoy and make you feel more like yourself.
