LMFT, 6 years of experience
Hello, I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of California. I have been in the field for 6 years where I have gotten the chance to work with many different individuals through a private practice setting as well as in a community mental health setting. I want to help you set and reach meaningful goals and feel like you really got something out of therapy. The individuals that are my focus area are those struggling with anger, conflict, and communication. I want to help you work through your anger, find creative coping skills, and develop effective communication and conflict management skills.
In our first session we will gather information about what is bringing you into therapy and then set up goals for what you want to get out of therapy. We will also discuss what therapy will look like and go over any questions you may have.
I want you to feel like you got something out of therapy and that the help you received was tailored to fit you. I don't believe in a cookie cutter approach to therapy and like to pull from a variety of modalities to help you in what ways work best for you. My priority is making sure that you are getting the help and the tools that you need to benefit not just in the short term but also in the long term.
I like to work with individuals who are ready to invest time in working through their concerns to find solutions. My clients are often ready for coping skills that work and want to understand where their issues are coming from but don't know where to start. This is where we can work together to help find solutions.
I use this treatment method to help you find effective ways to address your concerns. This doesn't mean that we only focus on problems and solutions but rather that I prioritize you feeling like you received tools and ideas that are effective in helping you reach your goals.
I use attachment theory as a lens to help me conceptualize your concerns as well as better understand how you operate within your family and other relationships.
I often use Gestalt to help you process trauma at a deeper level, allowing you to move through your grief rather than around it.
I utilize different skills from CBT to help you become more aware of your thoughts and what values or ideas you may not realize are impacting you in certain ways.
I pull from a variety of DBT skills in my practice as I believe that DBT skills help you to develop a better way to manage stress, triggers, and difficulty situations.
