Hi, I'm Jessica. Do you sometimes find yourself overwhelmed by the many priorities and responsibilities you face? Is it a challenge to just focus on one task or issue at a time? I serve as a guide to help you create the roadmap you need to get where you want to go. Together, we'll uncover the barriers that keep you from reaching your goals and developing the kind of life you want for yourself. Using techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution-Focused theories, we'll create a detailed plan of action that will take you from a place of feeling generally "stuck" to feeling satisfied and hopeful about what life has in store for you. Whether you're dealing with symptoms of depression, anxiety, grief/loss, attention difficulties, substance use, or just generally looking for support as you make changes or transitions in life, I'll be with you every step of the way. I am a graduate of IU Columbus, and am a licensed mental health counselor. I have been in practice since 2022. As a therapist, I use a person centered approach and have training in ACT, and CAMs-care. I am an LGBTQ+ ally. I work with clients who have experienced trauma, who are diagnosed with bipolar, anxiety, depression, or experiencing suicidal ideation, and those with chronic medical conditions. While not Christian, I am able to work with clients who profess that faith.

Hi, I’m Dr. Walters, a licensed Clinical Psychologist. Ready to make some changes? Let’s work together to help you manage mental health challenges and recover from substance use disorders. For the past 26 years, I’ve supported people—likely much like you—in building the skills needed to get sober, stay in recovery, and address co-occurring mental health issues. I’ve worked with adults from all walks of life, including diverse ages, races, cultures, spiritual and religious backgrounds, and many in the LGBTQ+ community, to lay the groundwork for managing mental health and breaking free from drugs and alcohol. Worried that depression or anxiety might be fueling your substance use? You’re not alone—it’s common. We can explore that together and find strategies to help you manage symptoms and heal. If substance use isn’t your concern but you need help with anxiety, depression, or trauma, I can guide you toward a healthier, more balanced life. I look forward to meeting you.

Welcome to GrowTherapy I'm John Warner and I'm looking forward to working with you. I'd like you to acknowledge this step that you have taken to reach out. It takes motivation, insight, and courage to seek changes in your life. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in Louisville, Kentucky and I specialize in working with people who are either struggling with Substance Abuse or Mental Health issues, or who are trying to support a Loved One who is struggling with these issues, and feels overwhelmed by the circumstances. I provide a safe and supportive environment for you to explore the issues that are concerning you now. I believe that you are the expert on the things that do and don't work in your life but when life becomes overwhelming, we can sometimes lose sight of these skills and knowledge. I have found that many people often underestimate how much they know about themselves and others, and underestimate the strength that they posess to cope with and overcome the struggles that they experience. much more about themselves than they give themselves credit for, and I see part of my role as helping you unlock this knowledge and apply it in your life in ways that work best for you. While there may be times that you feel like you are not making progress, you will find that you are making more progress than you realize. We sometimes have more difficulty seeing the progress and positive qualities than we do in others. I will help guide you to see the strength and goodness that you possess and help you to see that the overall arc of our lives bends towards improvement

Hi, I’m Ciera, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who is passionate about creating a space where people can feel safe to slow down, reflect, and be themselves. Do you ever feel stuck, overwhelmed, or weighed down by stress and self-doubt? Well, I may be able to help with that. I believe healing happens when you feel understood, supported, and empowered to explore what’s been holding you back. Together, we’ll work on building resilience, finding clarity, and helping you reconnect with your strengths so you can create a life that feels more balanced and fulfilling. When I’m not in session, you can usually find me recharging with a good book, spending time with loved ones, or moving my body through exercise. Just like my clients, I know life can feel like “too much” at times but it can also be a place of growth, possibility, and meaning. My focus is to walk alongside you as you discover what that looks like for you.

Are you ready to make a change? I'm Cheri Counterman, LCSW. I've been working as a therapist and medical social worker for over a decade. I've worked with clients who have had a wide range of concerns like depression, anxiety, relationship issues, self-esteem issues, trauma, and many more. For therapeutic modalities, I specialize in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) but also utilize other forms of therapy like CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and Person-Centered Therapy. I am passionate about learning new therapeutic skills and attend yearly trainings to stay on top of new evidence-based therapies to help my clients. I know that asking for help can be one of the most vulnerable things we do as humans. That's why it's so important to me to make sure your time with me is as comfortable as possible. My goal is to create an open, safe space where you can feel supported in whatever you need from me. I believe that all people are valuable and deserve love and support no matter what they've been through. Everyone has their own unique story and journey through life; my job is not only to listen but also to help guide you toward healing your mind, body and spirit so that you can live the life you're meant to live!

I believe that when someone seeks therapy, they are reaching out because they want to move forward, feel less stuck, or find new ways to live well. I hold deep conviction that a meaningful, valued life is possible for anyone—even in the presence of disability, chronic pain or illness, depression, anxiety, trauma, or overwhelming life stress. I see psychotherapy as a collaborative space where we can discover the right pace and rhythm for facing those challenges: sometimes steady and gentle, sometimes more active and focused, always tailored to the person in front of me.

I have a Doctorate in Psychology and am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW). I have been working as a therapist for over 16 years. I specialize in mood disorders, anxiety, trauma and LGBTQIA issues. I believe that therapy should be a safe place to talk about personal issues without any judgment. We all need someone to talk to and therapy provides that space where you can be yourself. We all go through some things from time to time and should be able allowed to talk with someone who is willing to listen and provide us with the support that we need.

Frequently asked questions

Why filter by Indiana rather than a city like Indianapolis?

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in Indiana. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across Indiana from Fort Wayne to Evansville! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in Indiana.

Will my therapist take Aetna?

Yes! If you use Aetna you’ll be asked to verify your Member ID at the time you book the appointment. However, if you don’t have Aetna you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

How does the Specialty Filter work? Can I find a therapist that focuses on a specific issue?

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need.

Why use Gender, Age, and Identities filters?

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

What happens during the first therapy session?

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
