Therapy is a space where you should feel heard, understood, and supported—not judged. My approach is warm, collaborative, and focused on helping you better understand yourself, strengthen your relationships, and develop practical tools to navigate life's challenges. I work with individuals, couples, and families experiencing concerns related to anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, life transitions, emotional regulation, and self-esteem. I incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Gottman Method Couples Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) techniques based on your individual needs and goals. For couples, I use Gottman-informed interventions to help partners improve communication, navigate conflict, rebuild connection, and develop healthier relationship patterns. With individual clients, I focus on identifying unhelpful thought and behavior patterns while building healthier coping skills, emotional regulation, and confidence. You don't have to have everything figured out before starting therapy. My goal is to meet you where you are, help you understand what may be keeping you stuck, and work with you toward meaningful, lasting change.
First things first: You do not need to have your life figured out before coming to therapy. And no, you don't need to prepare a 47-slide PowerPoint presentation explaining everything that's ever happened to you. 😉 Our first session is really about getting to know you. We'll talk about what brought you to therapy, what you're currently experiencing, and what you'd like to be different. I'll ask questions about your history, relationships, stressors, and the things that are impacting you now—but we'll go at a pace that feels comfortable for you. I'll also explain how I work, answer any questions you have, and begin getting a sense of what approach may be most helpful. Therapy is a collaborative process, so you don't have to sit back while I tell you what to do. We'll work together to identify your goals and figure out what makes the most sense for you. And if you're nervous? That's completely normal. Sitting down with a stranger and saying, “So...here's everything that's wrong with my life” isn't exactly everyone's idea of a good time. 😂 You can take your time. You can ask questions. You can tell me if something doesn't feel right. You can even say, “I have no idea where to start.” That's okay—I'll help you from there. My goal is for you to leave our first session feeling heard, understood, and hopeful about the work ahead. Come as you are. We'll figure out the rest together.
I believe one of my greatest strengths as a therapist is my ability to create a space where you can be honest without feeling judged. Therapy isn't about pretending everything is okay—it's about having a place where you can show up exactly as you are. I bring empathy, authenticity, patience, and a good sense of humor to my sessions. I can sit with you during difficult moments while also helping you recognize when it's time to challenge an unhelpful thought, pattern, or behavior. Sometimes you need validation, sometimes you need a different perspective, and sometimes you just need someone to say, “Okay, let's figure this out together.” I also believe in being direct while remaining compassionate. I won't simply tell you what you want to hear, but I will always strive to help you understand the why behind what we're working on and how it connects to your goals. My approach is collaborative and practical. I want you to leave therapy with more than insight—I want you to have tools you can actually use in your everyday life. Most importantly, I don't expect you to be perfect. Change can be uncomfortable, progress isn't always linear, and sometimes we take two steps forward and one step back. That's part of being human. I'll meet you where you are, celebrate your progress, challenge you when needed, and walk alongside you as you work toward becoming the version of yourself you want to be.
I believe therapy should be accessible to everyone, and I welcome clients across the lifespan. I work with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families, and I especially enjoy working with individuals and families who may feel overlooked, misunderstood, or underserved. As a social worker at heart, I have a genuine passion for working with vulnerable populations and people navigating difficult circumstances. I understand that sometimes the challenges you're facing aren't simply about changing your mindset—there may be family dynamics, relationships, financial stress, trauma, life transitions, or other circumstances that make things more complicated. My ideal client is someone who is willing to be honest, curious, and open to doing the work—even if they're not quite sure where to begin. You don't have to be highly motivated or have everything figured out. You simply have to be willing to take that first step. I enjoy working with clients who want to better understand themselves, improve their relationships, develop healthier coping skills, build confidence, and create meaningful change in their lives. Whether you're a teenager trying to navigate life and identity, an adult feeling overwhelmed by everything on your plate, a parent trying to support your child, or a couple struggling to reconnect, there is room for you here. You don't have to fit a certain mold to benefit from therapy. My goal is to meet you where you are, understand your unique experiences, and help you move toward where you want to be.

CBT focuses on the connection between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Sometimes, the way we think about ourselves or a situation can affect how we feel and how we respond. In therapy, we will work together to identify unhelpful thought patterns, look at situations from a different perspective, and develop healthier ways of responding. CBT can be especially helpful when you feel stuck in negative thinking, overthinking, self-doubt, anxiety, or patterns that keep you from moving forward.
The Gottman Method is an approach to couples therapy that focuses on helping partners understand each other, communicate more effectively, manage conflict, and strengthen their emotional connection. Rather than focusing on who is right or wrong, we look at the patterns that develop between partners and work on changing those patterns. Therapy can help couples learn how to have difficult conversations, repair after conflict, rebuild trust, and reconnect with one another. The Gottman Method can be helpful whether your relationship is experiencing significant challenges or you simply want to build a stronger, healthier partnership.
DBT helps you develop practical skills for managing strong emotions, difficult relationships, stress, and impulsive reactions. In therapy, we work on learning how to pause before reacting, cope with difficult emotions, communicate your needs more effectively, set healthier boundaries, and navigate challenging situations without making things worse. DBT can be especially helpful if you often feel overwhelmed by your emotions, struggle with relationships, have difficulty regulating your reactions, or find yourself responding to situations in ways you later regret.
