Adolescents are a period of life with specific health and developmental needs and rights. It is also a time to develop knowledge and skills, learn to manage emotions and relationships, acquire attributes and abilities, and transition into adulthood. These are the years that mold our young population to blaze new trails and hand the torch to further our communities. I enjoy working with an individual with Developmental Disabilities. This unique population has an increase in resilience as they learn to understand the environment. I want to process with individuals through rehabilitation supports to ameliorate behavioral challenges. Collaboration with social and paid supports is pinnacle in this population's well-being to ensure stability while increasing coping, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. I received a Bachelor's degree in Social Work in 2007 from the University of South Florida, and went on to receive my Master's degree in Social Work from USF in 2010. During that time I worked full time and interned working with clients that had experienced traumatic events - mostly sexual assault or abuse. Before starting my private practice, I worked as a school social worker with students ages 3-22 for 12 years, gaining my licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, becoming a qualified LCSW supervisor.
