About me

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and I have 22 years of experience in the behavioral healthcare field. My personal and professional values of acceptance, compassion, collaboration, creativity, cultural sensitivity, and confidentiality allow my approach to counseling to be compassionate, kind, and respectful. I will provide a nonjudgmental environment and will treat you with dignity and respect. I am here to help you focus on, you and your individual goals for treatment.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

During our initial visit, I will ask questions regarding symptoms, what brought you in for treatment, and what you want to get out of counseling. I will ask questions about your history, which will include your childhood, education, relationships, living situation, and career. Our initial visit will be different from future visits. During our initial visit we will get to know each other and discuss how to proceed. You will have an opportunity to ask questions about me, the therapeutic process, and any other questions you feel are relevant to your treatment.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I believe in providing goal-directed treatment by working with you to develop goals that are specifically tailored to what you want to achieve. Treatment is planned with your specific goals in mind and progress is made toward the goal in a time-sensitive manner.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work closely with adolescents, and adults with a broad range of crisis, mental health and stressful life situations. We work together so that you may find new hope, solutions, and resolutions to see improved life situations and experience improved relationships. My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I utilize CBT to assist clients with challenging automatic negative thoughts that contribute to anxious and depressive symptoms. By using CBT, clients will gain an understanding of how our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are connected and influence our moods. CBT helps us to learn to think in a less negative way about ourselves and our life.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

I incorporate mindfulness practices, such as present moment awareness, meditation, and breathing exercises to assist with reducing anxious and depressive symptoms, and stress. Mindfulness is a skill that helps us be less reactive in the moment, to wake up and recognize what is happening in the present moment. When we are mindful, our attention is not on the past or the future but focused on the task at hand.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

Person-centered therapy is a non-directive form of talk therapy where you and I are partners in the therapeutic process. By utilizing person-centered therapy, clients have a safe and nonjudgemental space to explore thoughts and feelings and to explore their potential to make the desired changes.

I have been seeing Cindy for several years now and I wouldn’t want anyone else. If I need to see her before my appt she works with me and I can see her earlier. She’s always listens to me and helps me with my issues.
