(she/her)
My name is Jessica Jassmin Ordaz MSW., LCSW I am a bilingual clinical social worker who specializes in providing mental health and psychotherapeutic services for children, adolescent, adults, couples, and families. I graduated from Cal State Long Beach in 2020 as a Master of Social Work. I have experience with trauma informed care and play therapy. My focus is assisting clients cope with past trauma that continues to affect their ability to live a safe, happy, and peaceful life.
During our first session, I will introduce myself and review the psychotherapeutic limits of confidentiality. Together, we will complete a multidisciplinary assessment including (identifying the presenting problem, symptoms and behaviors, family make up, current medication, medical and mental health history, psychosocial history, challenges, strengths, assets, and resources) in order for me to get to know you and begin to build a positive and professional therapeutic relationship with you.
As clinician who has been practicing for over 6 years I am compassionate, open minded, respectful, a good listener, and solution focused even if that means finding solutions to improve you mental health and overall wellbeing each session. I enjoy integrating humor, kindness, validation, and emotional support in each of my clinical therapy sessions and look forward to seeing my clients grow and meet their therapeutic goals.
My ideal clients are responsible adults, children, and adolescents who are looking for quality emotional and mental health support. I have experience helping clients dealing with depression, anxiety, school and work stress, family and relationship problems, and trauma recollection. I enjoy helping clients who are serious about improving their lives and opening their hearts to learn how to love themselves and others. Throughout my career I have come to see growth and change in clients who have struggled with social anxiety and grief due to early adverse experiences of childhood abuse. As a social worker I understand how these experiences shape and prevent people from achieving healthy aging and life long happiness. I take concerns regarding abuse very seriously and provide reliability and on going compassion in order to assist clients in gaining control of their lives, stabilize themselves, and work towards a better future.
Other specialties
I identify as
Play Therapy
During my post graduate work I served as a Play Therapist for over 4 years and utilized Play Therapy as the initial evidence based model to treat my clients and their families. My sessions are guided by leading unstructured and semi structured play therapy sessions for traumatized children and families. However, I use structured sessions for ASD clients who require predictability and repetition to ensure emotional and physical safety. As a professional clinician I enforce all types of contained safety and confidentiality in each of my therapeutic sessions in order for clients to autonomously lead their therapy sessions and explore their feelings, past traumas, and eventually guide themselves with my support towards self healing and self actualization.
