I am a Marine Corps Veteran, Army wife, a mother, and a former educator. I want to make it clear that I may not be the right therapist for everyone, and neither do I strive to be. I focus on finding solutions that work for you. I am not a "how do you feel about that" therapist. I am a reality therapist who can provide long-term help for various mental health issues. I am a faith-based therapist who believes in God, but ultimately, my passion lies in helping people, regardless of their beliefs. I am dedicated to helping others reach their full potential, regardless of their beliefs. I am a former school therapist, and for the last 6 years, I've been working with adults (basically, after my cohort of students graduated, about 60% wanted to keep me as a therapist, and I started working with both teens and adults). I am the therapist who will be invested in your change; I will not always agree with you, I will challenge you, I will always be honest with you, and I will always have your best interest at heart. Your change is my priority!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Client's can expect an intake session where we get to know each other. My intakes do not involve just me asking your history but I give clients a chance to get to know myself as well. I believe that a relationship with a therapist is just like any other relationship, it needs to be a good fit. I do not believe that I am the therapist for every person that will come in contact with me but I do believe that I am the perfect therapist for those that are really looking to change their life.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My greatest strength is honesty. As a therapist I will always be honest with my clients. Change happens when we are honest not disillusioned. I am caring and I love life and I desire for my clients to love life as well.

My treatment methods

Christian Counseling

From the first moment I picked up the Bible, I thought it was the most fascinating book I had ever read. I really do believe that everything we need can be found in Christ Jesus. I have been able to help people prosper in all five aspects of their souls by helping them grow closer to God and bridge the gap between their spiritual well-being and mental health.

Faith based therapy

I empower others to use their faith as a guidepost to improve their mental health. I also help others gain freedom from religious trauma and legalism so that they can embrace God's unconditional love and acceptance. I help people understand the Bible and other religious texts for themselves, not based on what others have said.

Motivational Interviewing

I combine traditional Motivational Interviewing techniques of open-ended questions, reflections, affirmations, and summaries with CBT/DBT principles to treat a host of mental health issues.
