Beata Kinsey

LPC (she/her)1 year of experience

Welcome — I’m so glad you’re here. I’m a therapist who believes healing happens when we feel seen, heard, and supported—without judgment, pressure, or pretense. Whether you're navigating grief and loss, exploring your identity, untangling co-dependency, or simply trying to feel more at home in yourself, I’m here to walk beside you with curiosity, compassion, and the occasional well-timed sense of humor. My approach is grounded, affirming, and collaborative. I work with LGBTQIA+ folks, those exploring gender identity, and anyone who's ever felt like they had to shrink themselves to be accepted. Together, we can untangle the patterns that no longer serve you, build self-esteem, and create space for empowerment, authenticity, and growth. Therapy with me is a safe space to get real. You don’t have to have it all figured out. You don’t have to be "strong" all the time. You just have to show up — as you are. I’ll meet you there. Whether you're working through something heavy or reaching for something new, we’ll do the work together — with heart, with honesty, and yes, even with laughter.

First session

Our first session is about getting to know each other and laying the groundwork for our work together. We'll talk about what brings you to therapy, start exploring your goals, and begin building a connection rooted in trust and safety. We’ll also cover the basics — what therapy looks like, scheduling, payment, and how to get in touch. Whether you have clear goals or are still figuring things out, you’re welcome exactly as you are. This is a space for you to feel seen, supported, and heard from the very beginning.

Strengths

Clients have shared that I am warm, grounded, and easy to talk to. I offer a safe, affirming space where you can show up fully as yourself. I bring deep compassion, a sense of humor, and a commitment to your growth. I value both empathy and accountability, and I’ll support and challenge you in ways that help you move forward with clarity and confidence. My goal is to help you feel safe, empowered, and truly seen — in therapy and beyond.

Ideal clients

I work with individuals who are ready to do the work — people who are invested in their own growth and committed to showing up for themselves, even when it's hard. My clients often come to me navigating LGBTQIA+ and gender identity journeys, healing from grief and loss, working through relationship challenges, or rebuilding self-esteem. Whether you’re unlearning old patterns, seeking clarity in who you are, or striving to live with more intention and authenticity, I’m here to support you. I especially connect with clients who value honesty, accountability, and personal evolution — those who are ready to dig deep, grow, and move forward with greater confidence and self-compassion.

Treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is used to help clients understand the interconnectedness of their thoughts, their feelings, and their behaviors. Various interventions are designed to teach clients to become aware of what they are thinking in order to increase their ability to effectively manage their emotions and behaviors. Reflective listening, reframing of thoughts, identifying incongruous thoughts, defining personal affirmations, and establishing a baseline of a healthier self-concept contribute to effecting positive changes in one's mood and behavior, and ultimately in their functioning.

Eclectic

No two people are the same, especially when it comes to their lived experiences, or their response to their lived experiences. For this reason, I adopt an eclectic approach to treatment in order to provide each individual client with the tools and resources they need for the problems they are working through.

Mind-body approach

The human mind and the human body work together in all things. Treatment for mental health should be no different. Engaging the physical body in the work of the emotional mind helps people to use the natural gifts their bodies give them in the way of cues, signals, and warnings that something is wrong (or conversely, something is right!). I teach clients to pay attention to signals from their body to inform their response to situations. Clients learn to listen to what their bodies tell them, especially during times of increased stress, trauma, and emotional rigor.

Trauma-Informed Care

Every human walking this planet has endured some form of trauma, big or small, in the span of their lifetime. Trauma-informed care is therapy that places importance on the individual's lived experience of the trauma, and efforts to reduce harm and increase resilience while working toward recovery and healing from the trauma.

Psychodynamic

Psychodynamic therapy helps clients improve self-awareness, gain insight into unconscious patterns, and develop healthier coping mechanisms for navigating the stressors life throws at us.
