Hola and hello! I am Briana Ahmed, a bilingual Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in California. For over five years, I’ve supported youth and young adults as they navigate life transitions, anxiety, and relationship challenges. My work also extends to adults seeking to repair relationships and build healthy boundaries that foster more meaningful and satisfying connections. As a practicing Christian, my faith and biblical values are an important part of who I am and can inform my work when appropriate. At the same time, I am committed to meeting each person where they are, respecting diverse perspectives, and creating a space that feels safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

During the initial session, we will take time to exchange introductions and discuss expectations for therapy. We will take majority of the session to explore the concerns that brought you in and begin identifying the treatment goals you would like to address in our work together. My priority is to ensure that you feel heard, understood, and supported throughout the process.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

Together, we will develop a treatment plan tailored to your unique needs and goals. I utilize a collaborative approach to ensure that each session is meaningful and supports your progress. Over time, this space will serve as a safe and supportive environment for reflection, processing, and healing. We will work together to identify healthy, practical solutions that help you move beyond feeling stuck and toward living a more fulfilling life. If you are seeking support during a challenging time or are ready to make meaningful progress toward your goals, I welcome the opportunity to work with you. Please feel free to reach out to determine if we are a good fit.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work with people that feel the need for change but do not yet know where to start. Perhaps they do not know what the next steps look like and that is ok. Change is scary and can be uncomfortable at times. I am here to support you in this journey until you are fully confident in taking the next steps on your own.

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I have significant experience applying Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help clients navigate challenging thoughts and emotions. My work centers on strengthening mindfulness skills, clarifying core values, and supporting clients in taking intentional steps toward meaningful change. Through a combination of practical exercises and collaborative discussion, I assist clients in accepting what is outside their control while building a more purposeful and authentic life.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is an evidence-based, goal-oriented form of psychotherapy that focuses on the connection between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. In session, we learn to identify and challenge negative or inaccurate thoughts, and replace them with more balanced and realistic perspectives. This shift in thinking can lead to healthier emotional responses and more effective behaviors.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

SFBT is a short-term, goal-directed form of psychotherapy that emphasizes finding practical solutions. The therapist and client work collaboratively to define clear, achievable goals and develop actionable steps to reach them. The therapist helps draw these out through focused questioning with emphasis on the skills and knowledge clients already have to improve their situation.
