About
Hi there! I'm Emilie. Do you struggle to cope with your emotions or navigate the stressors of daily life? I empower my clients to reach their full potential through a strength-based approach. I specialize in helping women aged 18+ with Autism, Anxiety, ADHD, parenting stressors, life changes, and perfectionism.
I specialize in helping individuals ages 4-12 and 18+ with Autism, Anxiety, ADHD, or other neurodevelopmental differences.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, a Registered Dance/Movement Therapist, and a Certified Autplay Therapy Provider. I work to integrate my counseling and somatic psychotherapy background with the clients and families I serve. I look forward to meeting you!
First session
During our initial session, I'll ask about your interests and the challenges you're currently facing. Together, we'll focus on ensuring your comfort and begin outlining achievable goals. The information gathered during the first session will help me gain a holistic view of your experiences and will help me create a personalized treatment plan.
Strengths
I consider my greatest strengths as a therapist to be compassion and commitment to a strength-based approach. I emphasize fostering trust within the therapeutic relationship, which my clients frequently acknowledge by expressing comfort and a sense of being understood during our sessions. This trust forms the foundation for clients to feel safe in taking risks to grow.
Ideal clients
I am best positioned to support women as they face the challenges of everyday life. I specialize in working with women who are navigating ADHD, autism, anxiety, body image concerns, people-pleasing tendencies, perfectionism, life changes, and/or parenthood—particularly when parenting children with strong emotions or neurodivergence. My goal is to help women feel understood and accepted as we work together to build upon their strengths.
Treatment methods
Attachment-based
I integrate attachment styles into my therapeutic approach to assist clients in cultivating positive and meaningful relationships. By exploring your attachment style, regardless of your age, we can uncover insights into interpersonal patterns and gain a deeper understanding of yourself. This framework provides clarity and guidance for fostering personal growth and relational understanding.
Strength-Based
I employ a strength-based approach to establish personalized goals that capitalize on your existing strengths. By leveraging your strengths and interests, we enhance the effectiveness of familiar coping strategies that are uniquely tailored to you as an individual. This approach facilitates a more natural integration of strategies into your daily life, promoting sustainable growth and resilience.
Somatic
I use somatic body-based strategies to help clients strengthen their mind-body connection. My dance/movement therapy training has deepened my passion for utilizing both talk therapy and somatic strategies to best support my clients.
