First session
In our first session, we’ll take time to get to know you and understand what’s bringing you in. I’ll ask questions about your current concerns, symptoms, history, and goals so we can get a clear picture of your needs. This session is also an opportunity for you to share your experiences at your own pace and ask any questions you may have. My approach is supportive, collaborative, and nonjudgmental. If appropriate, we may also discuss treatment options, which can include coping strategies, lifestyle adjustments, and/or medication. My goal is to work with you to create a plan that feels comfortable, practical, and aligned with your goals.
Strengths
What stands out about my approach is the integration of psychiatric care with a supportive, practical, and patient-centered therapeutic style. I focus not only on symptom relief, but also on helping patients build insight, develop effective coping strategies, and create sustainable changes in their daily lives. I take a collaborative approach to treatment, ensuring that patients feel heard, respected, and actively involved in their care. I also tailor each treatment plan to the individual, incorporating elements of supportive therapy, cognitive behavioral techniques, and motivational interviewing as needed. Patients often appreciate that my approach is both compassionate and goal-oriented. I strive to create a space that feels safe and nonjudgmental, while also helping patients make meaningful progress over time.
Ideal clients
I am best positioned to work with adults experiencing mood and anxiety-related concerns, including depression, anxiety, mood swings, stress, and life transitions. I also work well with individuals navigating burnout, emotional overwhelm, and challenges related to work-life balance, relationships, and identity. My approach is particularly well-suited for patients who are open to a collaborative, supportive style of care and are interested in gaining insight, improving coping skills, and working toward meaningful, sustainable changes in their mental health. I strive to meet patients where they are, whether they are new to treatment or have prior experience, and support them in developing practical strategies that align with their goals and daily lives.
Treatment methods
Supportive
I primarily use supportive therapy in my practice as a psychiatric provider, integrating it into medication management visits to address both emotional and psychological needs. My focus is on creating a safe, collaborative space where patients feel heard and understood. I help patients process current stressors, regulate emotions, and strengthen coping skills through validation, encouragement, and practical problem-solving. Within this framework, I integrate techniques from cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and solution-focused therapy to help patients identify patterns, build insight, and make meaningful changes. My approach is flexible and patient-centered, allowing me to meet individuals where they are while supporting progress toward their mental health goals.
