Hi there, I'm Sophia! I understand that reaching out for support isn't always easy. Life can be complicated, overwhelming, and sometimes downright unpredictable. Whether you're navigating a difficult transition, struggling with relationships, feeling stuck, or simply wanting to better understand yourself, you don't have to figure it all out on your own.

My goal in our first session is to find what brought you into therapy and discuss a plan of action moving forward of what you have identified as an issue and want to change.

I believe therapy should be a safe, welcoming, and nonjudgmental space where you can show up exactly as you are. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and practical. I strive to create an environment where you feel heard, understood, and comfortable exploring the thoughts, emotions, and experiences that may be holding you back. Together, we'll work to identify patterns, build on your strengths, gain new perspectives, and develop realistic strategies to help you navigate life's challenges with greater confidence and clarity. I believe meaningful change comes from a combination of self-awareness, personal growth, and having the right tools to move forward. As a therapist, I bring both professional experience and a genuine appreciation for the complexities of being human. I believe in meeting you where you are while gently challenging you to move toward where you want to be. Whether you're looking for support through a difficult time or ready to make lasting changes, my goal is to help you feel empowered, supported, and more confident in creating a life that feels fulfilling and authentic to you.

First session

We sit down and discuss what brought you here and what you want to change. We can then identify steps on how to get you there.

Strengths

One of my greatest strengths as a therapist is my ability to create an open, honest, and authentic therapeutic relationship where you feel heard, respected, and supported without judgment. With specialized training and certifications in substance use, dependency, and trauma, I bring both clinical knowledge and genuine compassion to conversations that can often feel difficult or uncomfortable. I recognize that many of the habits, coping mechanisms, and behavioral patterns we develop originate from a need to protect ourselves, manage difficult emotions, or simply get through challenging experiences. While these strategies may have served a purpose at one time, they don't always continue to serve us in healthy or meaningful ways. My approach is to help you understand these patterns with curiosity rather than criticism, build on your existing strengths, and develop healthier ways of navigating life's challenges. Together, we'll work toward creating lasting change, helping you move beyond simply surviving to truly thriving.

Ideal clients

I like working with folks who are curious, and have identified some thing that they want to work on, process or change.

Treatment methods

Eclectic

My therapeutic approach is eclectic and individualized, meaning I draw from a variety of evidence-based techniques to best meet your unique needs, experiences, and goals. I believe that meaningful change begins with a strong therapeutic relationship built on trust, safety, authenticity, and mutual respect. By meeting you where you are, we can work collaboratively to explore challenges, build on your strengths, and develop practical strategies that support personal growth and lasting change. My goal is to create a compassionate, nonjudgmental environment where you feel comfortable being yourself while gaining the insight and tools needed to move forward with greater confidence.

Trauma-Informed Care

My approach to trauma-informed care is rooted in compassion, understanding, and the belief that our past experiences can shape how we think, feel, and respond to the world around us. I recognize that many of the behaviors and coping strategies we develop are rooted in a need for safety, protection, or survival. Rather than focusing on what's "wrong" with you, I believe in exploring what you've experienced and how those experiences may continue to influence your emotional and physical responses. My goal is to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where you feel empowered to explore these patterns at your own pace. Together, we'll work toward building self-awareness, strengthening resilience, and developing healthier ways of navigating life's challenges. I believe healing isn't about erasing the past, but about helping you move forward with greater confidence, connection, and a renewed sense of control over your life.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and cognitive reframing techniques to help you better understand the connection between your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Often, the way we interpret situations is influenced by past experiences, learned patterns, and beliefs that may no longer serve us. Together, we'll explore these patterns with curiosity and compassion, identify unhelpful thought processes, and work toward developing healthier, more balanced perspectives. My goal isn't to tell you how to think or feel, but to help you challenge limiting beliefs, recognize your strengths, and approach life's challenges with greater flexibility, confidence, and self-awareness. By combining practical strategies with a supportive, nonjudgmental approach, I aim to help you create meaningful changes that extend beyond our sessions and into your everyday life.

She’s understanding, very knowledgeable, provides solutions and resources, and is personable. I immediately connected with her and loved and “real” she felt and not just on a professional level. Highly recommend!
