New to Grow
I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over 15 years of experience in mental health care and 5 years of practice as a Nurse Practitioner. I provide comprehensive psychiatric services including diagnostic evaluations, medication management, and supportive psychotherapy. I specialize in the treatment of mood disorders, including depression and bipolar disorder, and take a thoughtful, person-centered approach to care. My treatment style integrates evidence-based medication management with supportive psychotherapy, ensuring that each patient receives care that is effective, collaborative, and individualized. I also have experience working with individuals from diverse and underserved backgrounds and approach each patient with cultural humility and openness. With a foundation in nursing, I believe deeply in the art and science of caring. Patients often share that they leave sessions feeling heard, validated, and understood. I strive to create a judgment-free, supportive environment where individuals feel safe discussing their concerns and confidence in their care. Seeking mental health support takes courage, and I am committed to meeting that courage with compassion, respect, and dedication. You do not have to navigate your mental health journey alone. I am here to support you every step of the way. Please reach out today to schedule an initial appointment and begin your path toward healing.
Your first appointment with me will be a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation. This initial session allows me to gain a full understanding of your mental health history, current concerns, and overall well-being so we can create a thoughtful and effective plan of care together. During the evaluation, I will ask a range of questions about your background, including your work, relationships, medical history, and mental health experiences. We may also discuss more sensitive topics, such as past stressors or trauma, at a pace that feels comfortable for you. A key part of the evaluation involves reviewing symptoms you may be experiencing, which helps determine whether a diagnosis such as depression or anxiety is present and guides treatment recommendations, including medication options when appropriate. I believe in taking the time needed to truly understand each individual. The more complete the picture, the better and more personalized your treatment will be.
My greatest strength as a provider is my genuine care for the individuals I treat. I approach my work guided by the ethical principles of nonmaleficence and beneficence, meaning I am committed to doing no harm and acting in my patients’ best interests at all times. I strive to go above and beyond for those who seek my help, recognizing the courage it takes to reach out for mental health support. Other strengths I bring into our sessions include active listening, critical thinking, and a holistic approach to treatment that considers the whole person, not just symptoms.
I have experience treating individuals with a wide range of mental health conditions and levels of severity across various clinical settings. At this time, I provide outpatient services exclusively via telehealth. Through this platform, I am best suited to support individuals with mild to moderate mental health concerns who may benefit from medication management, supportive psychotherapy, or ongoing maintenance of an existing treatment plan. This includes individuals who are already stable on a medication regimen and are seeking a dedicated provider to continue their care.
Supportive
Psychotherapy is a vital component of treatment. Prescription medications alone are not enough; as a provider, I am responsible for also providing supportive talk therapy to my patients.
