The heart of my practice is in creating a therapeutic space where individuals can explore the corners of their emotions and experiences, navigate life’s challenges, and cultivate meaningful connections. In my approach, I incorporate collaboration, introspection, humor, and creativity to empower my clients to lead fulfilling and purposeful lives. In my practice, I integrate principles from attachment theory, solution focused therapy, CBT, ACT, and psychoeducation to tailor therapeutic interventions that address the unique needs of each client. I believe in the interconnectedness of individuals within their familial, social, and cultural contexts, emphasizing the importance of understanding how these systems influence one’s psychological well-being.
Our first session will mostly be a 'getting to know you' session - think of it as a meet and greet! Not only is it a chance for me to learn about you and your goals for therapy, but it is also a chance for you to get to know me, and ensure that we are a good fit! There will be plenty of time for heavy stuff later, so no need to feel that you need to spill it all in that first session!
I have been working as a social worker for the past 11 years, and have spent time conversing with people from all walks of life. I like learning about your story as much as you are willing to share, and I love to ask questions to get you thinking deeper and more critically.
I enjoy working with clients no matter what stage of change they are in. Perhaps you are feeling motivated for a full reset, or maybe you are just testing the waters. Either way, I am here to help get you to a comfortable place where you feel able to make the changes you want to see in your life.
