First session
In our first session, we will discuss your reason for visit, your medical/psychiatric history, your past and current symptoms. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions. If we both agree, I can start you on medication(s), request more information or refer you out to another provider who may best meet your needs.
Strengths
Having worked in the medical field for over 20 years, I've developed a fundamental understanding of psychiatric disorders and the requisite skills for helping you (a) identify the root cause of your challenges and (b) create a tailored plan that leads to measurable progress. My areas of expertise in treatment include the following: Depression and anxiety disorders, mood disorders, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), insomnia, and nightmares.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is an effective approach that assists patients in identifying negative thought patterns and understanding the impact of these thoughts on their emotions. Such negative thinking often leads to outward expressions of feelings, which can result in increased anxiety and depression. This cycle of thought contributes to irrational reasoning, inadequate planning, and a pervasive sense of hopelessness or helplessness. The primary objective of CBT is to modify these detrimental thought patterns by enabling individuals to recognize cognitive distortions that contribute to their difficulties. Furthermore, it encourages patients to reassess their thoughts in the context of reality, thereby fostering a deeper understanding of their behaviors.
