New to Grow
Hello! My name is Klaudia Bialy, PsyD, and I am a licensed psychologist in VA and MD. It takes a lot of courage to look for a therapist, and I am so glad you did! Life is full of challenges, and I am here to walk along side you during your journey. I believe being my authentic self fosters a great therapeutic relationship and is a mechanism for change. Together, we will explore your unhelpful thoughts, learn coping skills, and at times share a laugh! I will meet you where you are and work on goals we collaboratively create. My goal is to make you feel comfortable sharing your personal experiences with me. I believe the therapeutic relationship is the most important when working together.
in our first session, we’ll take time to get to know each other better. My goal is to create a safe place where you feel comfortable sharing your journey with me. Together, we will create goals to work on in session, and start working towards the life you’d want to live.
I have extensive training in CBT through The University of Pennsylvania academic training clinics, private practice, and hospital settings. I consider myself lucky that i have worked with diverse populations.
I have experience working with diverse populations. I have experience with teenagers and adults with anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive concerns, and disordered eating. I believe therapy is what you put into it, and if you are willing to put in the work we’d make a great team!
CBT is a super practical, down-to-earth kind of therapy that helps you understand how your thoughts, feelings, and actions all work together. Sometimes the way we think about things can actually make us feel worse or get in our own way. CBT helps you notice those patterns, challenge the unhelpful stuff, and learn new ways of thinking and responding that actually support your mental health. Together, we will examine your unhelpful thought patterns and find more balanced ways to evaluate your situation.
I believe therapy isn’t a one approach fits all. I use various techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance commitment therapy, DBT, and psychodynamic. I tailor my approach to your unique situation and goals.
We all go through tough situations such as painful emotions, grief and loss, difficult thoughts, anxiety, and self-doubt. ACT doesn’t try to get rid of those things (unfortunately, that’s not always possible). Instead, it helps you make room for them, without letting them run the show. My goal is to assist with sitting with the painful emotions and experience without pushing it away, but rather learning to tolerate and cope with it.
