Hi everyone! My name is Kristin (she/her)! As a Licensed Professional Counselor, I love what I do! This includes working with clients to reach their goals, reinforce their strengths and work towards inner healing. I strive to utilize reflective listening, empathetic understanding and compassion with my clients to provide a safe enough environment where they can feel comfortable sharing with me in our therapy sessions. I encompass modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy and Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing, but work towards an individualized treatment approach as each client is different! My background includes working in outpatient, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient and correctional settings with clients who may identify with different multicultural backgrounds. I have experience working with individuals, couples, and families who may be experiencing anxiety, depression, addiction, relational issues or trauma symptoms. If you or your chosen family are ready to begin therapy, I am here to be a support and guide for you to work towards your growth!
In our first session, you can expect us to build rapport with one another. I would like to get to know you and your experiences (of course whatever you feel safe and comfortable sharing). We will also create a plan for what you would like to work on together during your time at Grow!
Having over 7 years of experience, I feel confident in providing a safe space for my clients, providing active listening and helping you to build connections between your thoughts, feelings and actions as well as ways to work on challenging some of the reasons why you may feel stuck at the moment.
I have a passion working with those that often feel stuck, may experience unhelpful thinking patterns and need support working through those things for an overall better quality of life!
We work on use skills from CBT to help with identify, challenging and reframing unhelpful patterns of thinking.
We work on past trauma, present disturbances or future based events likely to happen by using bilateral stimulation such as tapping or eye movement to desensitize from the event and install a more positive belief.
We work on past trauma history by using skills to challenge and reframe thinking patterns such as surrounding safety, trust, intimacy, self-esteem and power/control.
We will use eye positioning to process difficult emotions and unresolved traumatic experiences.
