LMFT, 15 years of experience
Thank you for visiting my profile. I consider myself to be a focused, inspired, compassionate, curious, solution-oriented, somatic, holistic, client-centered therapist. Providing the kind of support, understanding, and insights that give my clients the hope, motivation, and aha moments to elevate their self experience and personal healing to the next level. My intention is to provide the best and most consistent service to each person I have the privilege to meet.
In our first session we will start with a brief introduction and then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will begin the process of creating a specific plan for you in our future sessions.
My experience of having worked extensively in bereavement and family counseling at Hospice has created in me a vast resource of reliable coping, resilience, and therapeutic skills for many different issues. My knowledge of holistic natural mindfulness practices brings an element of profound peace, inspired hope, and potential joy to our work together as well.
Inquiring minds & hearts; people that want a safe, deep, and real place to expand their personal potential in a positive uplifting way. My intention is to make a profound alliance while alleviating suffering with anyone willing to connect into, consider, and ponder deeply their amazing capacity to heal and grow.
My 3000 hour journey at Hospice as a bereavement counselor instilled in me valuable insights, therapeutic skills, along with a depth of understanding and compassion for the emotional challenges that can accompany grief, loss, and significant changes in our lives. The therapeutic alliance can profoundly support individuals into a sense of peace and personal healing as they journey through these often times unchartered waters.
My 20 plus years as a yoga instructor serves as a foundational resource to implementing somatic body techniques including guided breathwork and mindfulness practices. Somatic awareness and attunement assists in bringing us into relaxation, stillness, and bodily awareness allowing for a present moment experience which can greatly reduce anxiety and depression.
I enjoy working with couples and typically use a blend of emotionally focused therapy, John Gottman's work, and Imago techniques to help bring peace, clarity, love, and respect into focus.
Identifying peoples strengths and reframing weaknesses can positively impact people to use their personal traits in new, relatable, positive, and innovative ways. The therapeutic alliance can be a powerful mirroring tool through which self esteem, confidence, understanding and compassion can be both cultivated & self actualized.
Positive discipline is a well established philosophy of connection before correction that is highly effective at creating a strong loving child/parent relationship. As a stay at home mom for the primary early years of my children's lives I studied extensively in the areas of mindful parenting, ADHD, and working with spirited children.
