New to Grow
Welcome! I am Pedro Felix and I help people with busy minds find inner peace. I received my education at SF State, UC Berkeley, and Sofia University, and for more than 20 years, I have worked in community mental health and social services settings. My work has focused on relieving distress, exploring meaning, and empowering individuals to live their best lives. I integrate traditional psychotherapy with transpersonal psychology—mindfulness, higher-self, and wholeness—to support individuals who are struggling with emotional afflictions, relationship conflicts, and life transitions. I specialize in adults, LGBTQ+, People of Color, Latinx, Spanish-speaking, and spiritually-oriented individuals. Many of the clients I serve are feeling distressed, disconnected, or disoriented. We address healing from a difficult past, navigating a stressful present, and/or moving toward an uncertain future. The result is often clients feeling more aligned, grounded, and connected with their truth. This involves having a stronger sense of purpose, deeper meaning, and more clarity, which in turn, leads to living with more authenticity, inner calm, and joy. If you are seeking not just change, but transformation, I’d be honored to work with you.
Our first session is a space for us to get to know each other and begin to understand what is bringing you in. We’ll talk about your current concerns, relevant history, and what you’re hoping to gain from therapy. I will seek to understand your experiences, patterns, and goals, while also prioritizing what feels most important for you. You can expect a supportive, nonjudgmental, and welcoming environment. By the end of the session, we’ll have a better sense of your needs and how we might work together moving forward.
My greatest strengths are my ability to form strong connections with clients, a genuine care for their wellbeing, and an authentic approach to our work together. I want you to benefit the most from your therapy experience. I am proud of the many people I've supported in my years of experience in the mental health field. I uphold an individualized approach, honoring each person's unique experience, and I maintain a strong sense of cultural awareness and inclusivity. My therapeutic approach is flexible and integrative, drawing from mindfulness, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), psychoeducation, motivational interviewing, and harm reduction. I adapt each session to the client's needs, balancing practical tools with deeper explorations so clients can not only manage symptoms, but also move toward a greater sense of meaning and purpose, clarity, and alignment in their lives. My clients often share that after our work together they feel better, significantly improved, and more confident. Many have expressed that our work has helped them to understand themselves in new ways and that they've been able to create meaningful, lasting change.
I work best with adults who are looking to understand themselves better and create meaningful change in their lives. Many are navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, or questions around identity, relationships, and direction in life. They may feel stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected. Others may be on a spiritual journey and are working toward integrating new insights and transformations into their regular lives. I work especially well with LGBTQ+, People of Color, Latinx, and Spanish-speaking individuals, as well as those who value a culturally aware and affirming space. Many of my clients are open to exploring not just what they’re experiencing, but why. They are willing to engage in the process, reflect honestly, and consider new perspectives.
Mindfulness-Based Therapy
I use mindfulness to help clients increase present-moment awareness, reduce reactivity, and develop a more grounded, compassionate relationship with their thoughts and emotions.
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
I use ACT to help clients accept difficult internal experiences, clarify their values, and take meaningful action toward a more aligned and fulfilling life.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use CBT to help clients identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns, build practical coping skills, and improve emotional regulation and daily functioning.
Transpersonal
I use a transpersonal approach to explore deeper questions of meaning, identity, and connection, supporting you in understanding yourself beyond symptoms and navigating personal growth and transformation.
