Respect, integrity, and compassion are values that I hold closely and that I share with my patients. In my opinion, the most exciting thing about telehealth is the ability to improve the flexibility in scheduling individuals in rural areas who are able to receive care without driving or sorting out car issues. This is not just any type of care but good care from good providers and care that also helps those who are worried about the stigma associated with mental health and can worry less, knowing that they are welcome in a confidential and safe space.

Ideal clients
My path to becoming a psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner began when I was in nursing school. I developed a strong passion for the psychiatric field, as I could empathize with clients facing difficulties, as I also faced my own challenges. I then continued to finish my bachelor's degree from Prairie A&M University in 2010. In 2016, I returned to start my master's degree, which I completed in 2018. After that, I did a psychiatric residency at Houston Methodist Hospital for one year, and then I began working as a psychiatric-mental health nurse for Houston Methodist Hospital, doing inpatient, telepsychiatry, and outpatient care. I then transitioned to a smaller company where I primarily focused on the geriatric population, after which I transitioned to other companies that dealt more with adults and children. After that, I opened up my private practice, specializing in patients across the lifespan with psychiatric mental health issues and limitations.

Motivational Interviewing
Motivational interviewing is used as a method to guide my patients through the stages of change and allow them to reach a positive outcome together without feeling alone on this journey.
