(she/her)
Hello! I have to start by acknowledging what you are doing right now, in this moment. I do not know the "why" you're here, but here you are and you are worth the time, strength and effort to engage with therapy. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), and in this field for about 11 years, it is a honor to sit with people wherever they are currently at in life. People from diverse backgrounds, cultures, ages, personalities and even of various faiths. My goal is to hold space for holistic faith-based Christian Counseling and foster practical skills for healing.
In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help us build therapeutic rapport and collaborate for your specific therapy goals.
One of my goals as a therapist is to build a therapeutic relationship you feel is safe, non-judgmental and open to the strengths, values, beliefs you bring. I look forward to meeting and joining you on your journey to the fullness God has for your life.
I am licensed in the State of Virginia and offer virtual psychotherapy sessions with weekday evening and weekend availability. I work with individuals who have experienced trauma, going through life transitions, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, anger, low self-esteem, relationship issues and chronic illness/pain. I have found the most success for individuals who are committed to showing up and doing the work to achieve their mental health goals.

Christian Counseling
Christian Counseling allows us to hold space where faith and evidenced-based therapy meets. This space is not for the therapist to say what is right or wrong, but to turn towards Biblical foundations and use of psychotherapy interventions to live in the abundance your life has been called to.
Cognitive Processing (CPT)
Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) sets the goal to assist you in getting "un-stuck" in recovery from trauma. This evidence-based practice brings education on post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) along with the ability to challenge our thoughts to more balanced beliefs of ourselves, others, and the world. CPT can be a jump start from PTSD to Post-Traumatic Growth.
EMDR
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) uses bilateral stimulation - eye movements, butterfly hug, tapping - to process distressing traumatic memories by allowing the brain to reprocess them. This is a great 'bottom up' approach to make the body-mind connection promoting healing and post-traumatic growth.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a structured, goal-oriented therapy focused on challenging negative thoughts, cognitive restructuring and behavioral activation. "3 C's" -- Catch, Check, Change
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) fosters skills in four core areas: Mindfulness, Distress Tolerance, Emotion Regulation, Interpersonal Effectiveness. Increase emotional balance while reducing harmful behaviors.

Sarah is really good at being honest and straight to the point, but in a way that still feels kind and caring. I felt comfortable and accepted talking with her. I also really appreciate that she keeps faith at the center—it makes the advice feel meaningful and helps me grow in a real way. I’d definitely recommend her to anyone looking for genuine support and guidance.

I loved her profile summary and thought she would be a good fit for me. She feels so warm to talk to but also challenges me which is something I wanted.
